3 to Inspire with Karen

It's time for another edition of our "3 to Inspire" series. We offer this new challenge every Saturday for those who need a little extra push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking, or those of you just looking for a challenge!

Your take on this challenge can be in the form of a mini album, layout or PL spread and you'll want to include all 3 elements on your project.

Here's my take on the challenge, using the June PL kit & Add-on's. This kit was magical to work with. In fact I really don't think it took much 'work' at all, just lots of creative fun.

Here are your 3 to Inspire:

      2. Use some stitching.

      3. Use stamps.

WEEK 21 WITH AMELIE

Hi there! Here is Amelie today with a new PL spread using our June kits! I really love the colors of these kits! Summer is definitely here and these colors are really prefect to document some good times! This week is about our trip to Niagara Falls! I used a color palette of white, gray and yellow with some wood touches!

Good Morning!

I am super excited to be here with you this morning! This is my first post on the Citrus Twist Blog and I am going to be sharing what I did with the main Pocket Life Kit and the "Sprinkles" add-on!

This spread was created with just the main Pocket Life Kit "Do Fun Stuff".

I couldn't get them to photograph very well, but I loved those black strip stickers with the gold phrases!

These next few spreads use both the main kit and the "Sprinkles" add-on!

On this page, I dumped all the gold sequins in one pocket and sewed it up. I transparent elements in my pocket pages! I also created another one by taking the acrylic tag with gold triangles on it and stitched down the word "sunshine" on it and slipped it into the lower right hand pocket.

When I first started out creating these albums four years ago, I started with the 12x12 size. This year, I switched it up and am using the 9x12 album. I LOVE this size, but I had a lot of the 12x12 album pages left over. I have been using these up by just trimming them down! I love that it gives a lot of variety and some slightly different sized pages. So, if you still have those larger pages left over and you have switched to a different size, make it work!

Holiday's album with Eve

I’m really an addict at Project Life : traditional 12x12 albums and Handbooks. I love to use smaller albums for our Holidays. I can’t put all my holiday’s photos in my yearly Project Life, so I have decided to use an Handbook/ Snap Stories Album for each holidays. I find it’s more easily to fill in these albums, to have a beautiful a harmony between the colors. The Pocket Life kit of this month was so colorful and fresh, and it was perfect for my holiday’s photos. Last weekend, on a Flea Market, I found a typewriter for 5$ only ! So I used it, to type my journaling on my cards J It’s more easily and quickly that use the computer, but there is one problem : you can’t make a mistake and erase it ! 

For my double layout, I used only Instax Photos, but as I have more instax than places, I take a 4 3X4 pocket, and I cut in half. I used a label to make a tab.

Pocket Life Sketch Friday

Hi and Happy Friday! It's Tara here sharing my take on Pocket Life sketches. I decided to go with the 6x8 album size for my Project Life this year, which allows me to incorporate mini layouts and pocket pages. This is my first year to do Project Life and I thought this would be a great way for me to finish the year off in a manageable size. For these layouts I used the June PL kit, Splish Splash add on kit, and Sprinkles kit found here.

Here is my 6x8 mini layout documenting our last summer camping trip of 2014 in New Mexico. I added my own DIY enamel dots made from perler beads.

And here are a few close ups. I added some alphas from my stash for my title. The labels are always perfect for touches throughout a layout!

I wanted to add some hand stitching to give this layout more dimension and something to pop with the patterned paper edge.

All the small pops of color from the Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss paper pads are perfect for summer! I can't get enough of the Evalicious puffy stickers and Crate Paper Poolside ephemera pack either! So many ways to use them to add a little something to your spreads. I love stamps and always try to find a way to add in some stamping - I just inked up "FUN" from the stamp phrase "DO FUN STUFF" to add a bit more on the corner of some ephemera.

 I am loving the gold alphas from the Sprinkles kit and the teeny heart wood veneers from the Splish Splash add on kit.

In My Studio with Tara

Hi and Happy Monday everyone! It's Tara here and I just wanted to share my "studio space".

Unfortunately I don't have a room dedicated to crafting. When we first moved to the UK I did have a room in mind, but it's currently used as the catch-all room housing half of my craft supplies, photos that are needing to be hung, a few boxes still needing to be unpacked, and soon will be turned into another space.

I have a little nook in our living room as my creative space which is also a multi-purpose space for my family. The main intention for this space was for a little coffee and tea nook. I love watching the sheep in the pasture across from my home right out the french doors each morning!

I usually have the table out completely as you can see here with my lovely craft supplies. Usually it's more of a mess but I'm working on keeping it tidy and organized. The natural lighting makes this a perfect spot to craft and create. I also love that I can still be a part of what everyone else is doing - keeping an eye on Bella, the boys or sneaking away some moments while cooking in the kitchen.

I try to find a happy medium between our living room and my creative area since since it's a common area that we all share. I hide some uncut photos behind a picture frame next to my Canon Selphy. 

On the shelf I have my Hobonichi Techo planner, Tomoe River notebook, and my 2015 Project Life album, Brighton Pier from Studio Calico. I also made my own enamel dots from perler beads! They are cute on layouts and as a pretty decoration too.

Across the room is a shelf where I use different boxes and containers to keep my things out of sight and organized. As you can see I also love planners and traveler's notebooks as a few are homed here. 

Most of my storage solutions are from Ikea. My red cart houses stamps, ink pads, watercolors, tools and much more. I have two tackle boxes full of washi and samples and a black storage box filled with more embellishments, yarn, and random items. The green storage container houses my stamps which was a great buy for the move. I hope to put them in nicer baskets in the future but for now it's a great solution.

Right on top of my red cart is where I keep my extra protectors as well as some I am working on. The Target Dollar Spot container also holds a few bits and bobs - things I like to keep on hand and easy to reach. I also have extra pens and some water color brushes in the lovely white doily container.

Here is a closer look at what I keep on my table. I'm re-using a Cracker Barrel box to hold my June Project Life Kit. The white doily container holds all my tools I need on a daily basis. The green ceramic basket holds my Sprinkles Kit contents in one place, minus the gold alphas. I always have a roller date stamp here too since they are a must have for me. Peppermint oil also has a home here since I have been having more headaches lately. It's been a lifesaver!

I'm working on a few more projects using the June Splish Splash add on kit. It's by far one of my favorites! I re-use past Freckled Fawn zipper pouches to hold the extra embellishments and kit contents so I don't lose them. I usually leave my current project or Project Life layouts on the table so I can go back to them whenever I have some free time.
