3 to Inspire with Tara

Hello everyone! You can find this challenge here every Saturday to help keep you inspired with a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, keep scrapbooking, or those just looking to do a fun challenge! Your take on this challenge can be a layout or a pocket page spread and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.

Your prompts this week are:

1. Embellish outside the pocket/page protector.
2. Create a flip up card/area on layout.
3. Scraps of paper.

For this challenge, I ended up with two spreads - a mini spread where I took a 6x8 page protector and cut off two of the four 3x4 pockets.

Here is an up close view. I have been waiting to use the vellum numbers that came in our December "Wonder" Pocket Life kit and found this as the perfect opportunity! I stapled it directly on top of the protector and also added one of the chipboard tiny word stickers to add more dimension and capture our fall day together at the zoo.

I have been trying to incorporate more journaling and love how I can "hide" it by making a flip up card.
It's so easy to make a flip up card! I used one of the journaling cards, "Be Yourself" from the kit. I used some washi tape from my stash to connect a cut down 3x4 Cedar Lane paper for the inner card.

Here it is from the inside view. I will be adding some white strips of paper to journal. I enjoy how you can ground patterned paper with the pop of white strips and journaling. I slip the 3x4 patterned paper portion of the flip up card into the sleeve and allow the "Be Yourself" journaling card to be on top of the sleeve so you can flip up the card easily.

I love how the 6x6 split pack of paper pads always includes the little perforated strip on top! I often use those to stamp, journal, and for layering!! Here is a closer look showcasing the little bits of scrap paper for layering.

Now it's your turn! Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us in the CTK Gallery and/or on our Facebook Fan Page by Saturday, December 26th, for a chance to win some happy mail! You can also upload to Instagram and tag us @citrustwistkits. Thank you for stopping by!

Have a lovely weekend!
Xxo, Tara

Inspiration with Alena

 Hi everyone!  Alena here today!
Today I would like to share with you my step-by-step layout tutorial , which is part of the my spread Project Life. I used December 2015 "Wonder" Pocket Life Kit and  December 2015 Sprinkles Kit.

I decided to make the main element of my layout -  fall leaf.

I cut all elements using the template.

It is time to add the embellishments.

I added stamps and some spray paint.

I want to share and other reversals of this month.

Hope you are inspired to dig out your CTK kits and start to create today! Thanks for letting me share with you.
Happy Crafting!

3 to Inspire with Diane

Diane here with another "3 to Inspire" challenge. You can find this challenge here every Saturday for those who need a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking or for those who just like a challenge! Your take on this challenge can be a layout or a PL spread and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.

Your prompts this week are:
    1.    Create a grid within your layout.
    2.    Use an embellishment you might otherwise hoard!
    3.    Use three of something.

Here’s my take on this challenge:

I created my grid within a page protector but you could achieve the same look with a traditional page. I ADORE the Maggie Holmes standout embellishments from the Sprinkles kit this month and knew if I didn't use this one right now, I probably never would because it would be too "good"! I only had two doilies but I split one in half to create three and the rest of the layout came together quickly with minimal fuss to document our weekend away.

Here is the process video of how this layout came together...

And here are a few close-ups...

Now it's your turn! Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us here in the gallery and/or our Facebook Forum. You can also upload to Instagram, but remember to tag us @citrustwistkits. Looking forward to seeing what you can do!

Pocket Life Sketch Friday with Mira

Hello!
It's Mira with Pocket Life Sketch Friday!
Today I'd love to talk a bit about a little project conducted by my Friend Huma! Because the month of November is such a cold and grey season here in Poland Huma decided to make it a bit warmer! How? By taking care of relations between Adults and their Children! She gathered a group of people, who would follow a list of great prompts suggesting what to do with kiddos every day during this month. It was something like: What's Your name?, Let's bake something together, Let's hug, Let's dance!, Amazing bath, Something nice for a stranger, Silly faces gallery, Our fairy tale, Let's play with light, etc...
The group was also motivated to document their actions in pictures and share them on Facebook and Instagram! You can find the results under the #bliskopad2015 hashtag.
We obviously joined this party and here's the first week of our crazy adventure:

Here's the whole page about our fairy tale. Ola was a princess and a bear for a while :) But She didn't seem to like the crown... or a hat :P
And here are the days when we were playing with a thread to present our names, having a concert using pot and some kitchen supplies, trying to watch family albums, hugging and documenting some silly faces.
Next Year I will encourage Huma to translate the prompts so You, our International Friends could join this fun!

But wait? Isn't that post about Pocket Life Sketch? Yeah right! I'm slowly getting there!
Ok, so I prepared a few sketches for You.
Here they are:

And here are a few details presenting some of the goodies that You will find in Your December PL Kit and Sprinkles Kits:

Gorgeous white alpha stickers and tiny words chipboard stickers from Seven Paper together with absolutely wonderful pink stars (PL Kit).

Adorable Citrus Twist Kits stamps, wood chips and beautiful elements to cut out (PL Kit).

Great selection of 6x6 patterned papers from PL Kit.

And colorful puffy stickers from Sprikles Kit ideal for every kind of project!

I have to say! December Kits are awesome, so if You are still thinking about joining CTK subscription but hesitate - please don't. You're gonna love EVERY little thing about these kits!

Ok, now it's Your turn! I really can't wait to see where those sketches will take You!
For your chance to win, create a layout based on the sketches in this blog post, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, December 11th. Be sure to include PL 12/04 in the title!
Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Kit Love with Karen

Hello friends!  Karen here with you today to share some December kit love. When I opened my box of goodies this month I felt particularly excited because I had a break from the Citrus Twist Kits Design team in November to complete a third year teaching prac, so therefore a box of pretty paper in the mail made my day. I've recorded my first unboxing video on YouTube, so be kind. I hope to do more.

Hope you enjoy it and the kit as much as I do.

Happy creating.

Pocket Life Mini Pages with Trina

Hi everyone, it's Trina here playing with the December Pocket Life kit. I set those vellum numbers out on my scrapbooking surface and let the numbers draw me in. I knew which 2 photos I wanted to use…just had to decide how to use the numbers.

I decided to use them as "3 years. 2 friends." We got our cat 3 years ago (as a tiny kitten) and she and the dog became 2 best friends. (These 2 pages document their friendship, along with some journaling on another page.)

Here are my two 6 x 8 mini layouts. They face each other across a spread in my 2015 PL album.

Here are some close-ups of the cat "3 years" page:

Layers plus fussy-cut leaves from Pink Paislee Cedar Lane 6 x 6 paper. I like how the colors of this December kit go well with b&w photos! (Just wish I had snapped some b&w of our Jessie.) I LOVE the pink chipboard tiny words from Elliott line by Seven Paper.

Close-up of lifted, bent layers - cloth, aqua paper, tissue paper, then photo with border:

This page needed a pop of color in the top right corner:

One last close-up for you:

I can't wait to see what you do with the Seven Paper Elliott Vellum Numbers. If you don't have the numbers, try fussy cutting numbers from pattern paper or with your Silhouette or die-cut machine. I look forward to seeing how you use the manila tags that come in your December kit, too.

Thanks for visiting!
