PL Sketch Friday with Trina

Are you ready to grab your crafty supplies (and scrapbook kit or pocket page kit if it has arrived) and get to some guilt-free playing? It's Trina here today with PL sketches to get you scrapbooking this weekend.

I was feeling a little stressed when I sat down to create this spread but by the time I was 5 minutes into it my stress had melted away.

My challenge to you is to finish a spread and keep it simple. Use only 3" x 4" cards on one of the pages.

Here is my finished spread:

Here is the right side of my sketch layout:

Here is the left side of my spread:

Confession: I fell in love with the piece of paper from Paige Evan's new Fancy Free line (from Pink Paislee and in this month's Beach Glass PL kit) that has little rectangular snippets of all different patterns and colors. I cut that page into individual strips then layered them behind my black-and-white photo. Book lover that I am, I had to tuck in a vintage book strip:

At first I glued down a little red snippet of paper in the lower right part of my page but it drew my attention a little too much. So I covered it with a small strip of torn fabric to "mute" the red. Next I glued another tiny strip of pattern paper over the top and added the (adorable) "yay" puffy sticker and cork heart:

I layered my Silhouette cut title over the top of the photo and layered strips. I like how the strips of pattern paper peek through. The font I used to create my title cut is Fabulous Script from Hungry JPEG. I finished the page off with splatters of yellow mist, totally random splatter placement:

When I was done, I had my little pile of 3" x 4" cards and 6" x 8" mini layout ready to tuck into my PL album:

Are you ready for your sketches? Here you go! One full-page layout for your pocket pages:

Here is a second page using four 3" x 4" journaling cards. I challenge you to keep it really simple and complete a page with 3" x 4" pockets:

Thank you for visiting Pocket Life Sketch Friday. We hope you have fun playing with your Pocket Life scrapbooking kit. Be sure to share your results. We would love to see them!
