3 to Inspire with Nathalie

Hello, I am back today to share a new edition of our "3 to Inspire" series. We offer this new challenge every Saturday for those who need a little extra push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking, or those of you just looking for a challenge!

Your take on this challenge can be in the form of a layout or a PL spread and you'll want to include all 3 elements on your project.

Here are your 3 to Inspire:
      1. An adjective as your title
      2. Gold accents
      3. Wood veneers

It happens that gold accents and wood veneers can be found in all our kits this month, the Main kit, the Pocket Life kit and the Add-on kit. The adjective, you have to find on your own ;)

This is my interpretation of the challenge created with the March "Sweet" Main and "Sprinkles" kits

To earn a chance to win, participate in this challenge and upload your layout to the Citrus Twist Kits Gallery by Saturday, March 14th and include "Inspire 3/14" as part of your title.

Wishing you a happy and crafty weekend!

Pocket Life with Karen

Happy Friday!  Karen here to share some of my 2015 pocket life spreads using the March PL and PL Embellishment kits. This is my first blog post for Citrus Twist Kits so hope you enjoy it.

These spreads came together so easily because of the colours in this kit, all my favourites are in it, yellow, blue & pink with splashes of white & black.

Here is a few close ups of the first layout

Here is my second layout which is probably my favourite due to that 'Fave' insta overlay, isn't it gorgeous. I had fun with this layout & even got my sewing machine out again.

A few close ups of this layout.

Here are your sketches, have a wonderful weekend everyone, & I really hope you enjoyed my first post here.

March Kit Love With Trina

One of the brightest moments of my month is the scrapbooking kit ritual of getting ready to scrap. Opening my kit and getting ready to scrapbook puts me in my happy place. What I love best about scrapbooking and project life kits is that everything is right at my fingertips, ready to inspire me.

This month I'm sharing the March "Sweet" Main kit with you. I begin the month by putting all the kit contents in a 13 x 13 plastic bin that fits nicely in a rolling stand by my scrapbooking space.

When I get ready to sit down and play, the very first thing I do is clean off my desk. For me it is super inspiring to walk in and see my nice, clean, white desk. Next, I sort the materials of the kit.

Here are some of the embellishments:

And a few more embellishments . . . with tags, stickers, word stickers, Thickers, wood chips, enamel dots and ephemera, I am almost ready to go! I just love the tiny words stickers, brand new from the Craft Market Crate Paper line: half the sheet is gold on ivory and the other half is black on kraft. I know I'll end up, ultimately, using up every last tiny sticker. The I Am sticker sheet from Simple Stories is really tempting me with it's assortment of words and shapes in lots of different colors including gold!

Now for the patterned and solid paper from the kit. Hmmm . . . which ones will I use first?

And at last I'm ready to begin. My photos are resting in a small tray ready to grab. This photo is in preparation to work on the March 20th blog post about using the Main kit to do your PL:

Last, I gathered a few new items I want to play with this month. The new Heidi Swapp date and "love this" stamps are calling me and I love the roller date stamp from Heidi Swapp, too. I've also set out the Lemon Drop alphabet die set from WRMK and Elle's Studio's newest Cienna stamp. You can check out the new items in our shop right here.

It's time to play now! You can view the March kits here.

Thank you for stopping by for a little kit love.

Tuesday Tutorial with our March Guest Designer Beshka

Hello there! Beshka here and I wanted to share with you how my PL spread came together for my fun little guest spot this month (thanks for having me btw!). Whether I am working with kits or going at it with my own set of goodies I always start out the same, with the photos.
If working with a kit I will often spread it out around my space while I am putting pictures in their pockets. Having the kit out while I work on the photos helps me decide what to use. As I put my photos into pockets I can see what will work best with them. Usually by the time I am finished inserting photos, I have decided what elements from the kit I am going to use. I like cohesive pages so it is important to me that what I use with my photos doesn't take away from them. I love all the amazing bits & pieces but I want my photos to tell most of the story.
Once the photos are in place I start adding my filler + journal cards. This go around I couldn't get away from those 6x6 papers and the idea of mixing all those fun patterns to make my own 3x4 cards. I cut several patterns to 3x4 + cut some blank cardstock to 3x4. I then cut my patterned pieces at a diagonal. Once they were all cut I started mixing them up and attaching them to my blank cardstock cards with a bit of adhesive.

Once my cards were all together I added a line of stitching to either side. I trimmed up any wonky cards with my paper trimmer and then added them to my pockets. I move them around a lot until I have the look I want. Once I have all my cards in I began embellishing + adding my journaling.
I don't have a lot of embellishing because I think the patterned cards add quite a bit on their own. My embellishing here includes little bits from the kit + some journaling blocks & strips + two little car cuts using a sheet of the 6x6 paper from the kit. And that is it, that is how my PL spread came together. Easy peasy, especially when you have a kit!
Thanks so much for letting me share and I hope you enjoyed a quick peek at my process.

March Kit Reveal

Today we rolled out reveal on our website for our March kits and new self-paced class. You can see the kits here.

Be sure to check out yesterday's blog where guest designer Beshka Kueser shares her scrapbooking space and peeks at some of the work she's done with March's Pocket Life kit.

We are very excited to offer Citrus Twist Kits Stamp Class. For just $12, you'll get the class stamp and class. We have 8 contributors sharing how they use stamps in their scrapbooking plus an introduction covering stamping, stamp storage and more:

This month's Main kit "Sweet" is packed!

Here is our March "My Happy Place" kit. We did have to do a last-minute replacement of the puffy stickers shown in this photo (that product is caught up in the backlog of the west coast port strikes) but were able to get a wonderful, brand new replacement: Maggie Holme's new Confetti line puffy stickers:

Here is another close-up of the PL kit:

Our "Happiness Is" add-on is fun, bright, happy and filled with new product from Elle's Studio, Pinkfresh Studio, Maggie Holmes Confetti and Craft Market by Crate Paper:

The "Smile All Day" embellishment kit has a set of accent stickers and alphabets, pink label maker word stickers and October Afternoon's Saturday Morning ephemera:

This month we are introducing our new monthly Sprinkles kit. This kit is $10 and has bits of this and that, split packs of embellishments and more. The style may vary from kit to kit but the product lines won't. Here is a peek:

"My Everyday Life" Pattern Paper kit is bright and fresh:

Check out this month's "Days of the Week" add-on stamp. @fabworqs did the calligraphy for this stamp:

Welcome our March Guest Designer Beshka Kueser

Hello hello, I am Beshka Kueser (bckueser). I live in Germany with my hubs and two kiddos. We moved to Europe in 2013 and like to spend most of our free time traveling. When we aren't busy traveling we are homeschooling, grilling some good eats, going to soccer games, watching movies, playing games, and trying to learn German. We also like to do our own things and mine is Project Life. This will be my fourth year doing project life and I love it as much as the day I started. You can find me at bckueser.com and designing for Digital Design Essentials, Gossamer Blue, and Jot Magazine.

Guest Design Q&A

1. How long have you been doing Project Life and why did you start?
Since 2012. Once upon a time I had done traditional scrapbooking but I left it all behind in 2007. During the spring of 2012 I was scrolling through Pinterest and came upon a PL spread, I was instantly curious about scrapping in pockets! A look here + a look there and before you know it I was anxiously awaiting my first box of PL supplies to arrive on my doorstep. I have been loving it ever since!

2. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Clean + colorful.

3. What scrapbookers have influenced you most?
I think the two that stand out the most for me would be Ali Edwards and Marcy Penner, they each have a unique perspective on a clean style that I really admire. I always love seeing what these ladies create.

4.What is your favorite thing about kit clubs?
I love kit clubs because I enjoy happy mail + I love that it is all coordinated. They are time savers and take the guess work out so I can just play!

5. What are your 5 favorite scrapbooking items?
Five things I am loving right now – the WRMK Instagram Albums, it's PL mini style; Becky Higgins journal & filler cards, love the fun colors in the 'My Life” themed card set; stamps..always stamps and I love the CT 'Live Inspired' set, those coffee stamps would get lots of use; paints + watercolors are another fave, and thickers, like the Kal Barteski Black Foam Twins Word Thickers, you can never go wrong with thickers!

6. How would you describe the Citrus Twist March Pocket Life kit and what do you enjoy most about it?
Warm + playful. I enjoyed that it wasn't my usual style, normally I go for bolder colors + a clean design, I had fun playing with the warmer colors + mixing all the playful patterns.

Here is a peek at her work with the March PL Kit.

My Studio: In 2013 we moved to Germany and the hubs found us an apartment in the city. I figured we would be cramped for space but it turns out the apartment spanned the entire 4th floor and there were 5 bedrooms. So the kiddos picked theirs, we set up our room + a guest room, and that left one room. I quickly claimed it and it does triple duty for our family as a studio + homeschool + office. It is the biggest space I have ever had with the best lighting, I love it! Oh, and please excuse the mess. :)

**Remember to leave some love or ask a question for our guest for a chance to win ONE of her favorite things!!**
