Sunday Sketch with Krystal

 

Hey everyone! This is Krystal and today I'm here to share this week's sketch challenge. Let's take a look at the sketch.

I loved all of the stitching and the pocket, and you know I love those layers! Here's my take on the sketch.

I stuck pretty close to the sketch for my layout, with only a couple changes. Instead of a second photo, I added a tag and some embellishments. I also decided to stamp on the tag and add my title below it on the pocket I made from one of the vintage book pages in the Scrapbook Add-On Kit.

The little ephemera piece with the house on it was perfect for this story! I added it and another ephemera piece from the Scrapbook Add-On to hold some hidden journaling inside the pocket. For my title, I mixed a word from the Marigold Thickers and the alphas from the kit. I love the way they nestle together. 

I created a little embellishment cluster on the tag I used in place of the second photo. I added a phrase sticker from the Life Crafted Kit to finish it off. I love this vellum and gold floral piece! 

At the bottom of the layout I layered a couple strips of paper and added some stitching. I used a label from the Digital Cutaparts to add my date, then finished off this cluster with a couple of puffy stickers and some stamping. 

I also added a little more stamping underneath my title. I used one of the stamps from the Flourish stamp set and only partially inked it so that I could stamp it in two lines to fit onto the pink dotted paper. 

And that's my layout done! I'm so glad that I was able to both document this story and create a beautiful page with this month's gorgeous Scrapbooking Add-On Kit! I hope you'll try this sketch out for yourself, and be sure to tag us if you do!

Pocket Page Challenge with Erica

Hey guys! I hope you're having a crafty week. It's Erica here with the weekly pocket page challenge. Today I am sharing week 18 in my 2020 album using the June Cravings Kit and Scrapbooking Add-On.

I love all the purple and blue tones in this kit. For this page I focused on those two colours and even altered the digital Social Hour card in Photoshop to match the blue in the kit. I wanted to use as many of the adorable lavender tiny word stickers as possible and found a home for one of them on almost every card. 

I then used the multi coloured alphas from the Scrapbooking Add-On kit to create a pop of colour. I used these alphas in three places across the page creating a visual triangle. I love how well these match the colours in the kit!

On this card celebrating National Scrapbooking Day, I used a paper from the Cravings kit and two strips of pattern that I fussy cut from one of the 12x12 pages in the Scrapbooking Add-On. I layered a rainbow puffy sticker from the Magical Forest Thickers and a tiny word sticker.

I also used a few pieces from the June Cutapart Elements and Digital Tags. This days of the week element was the perfect size to fit inside this 3x4 card I cut down from a 12x12 sheet in the Scrapbooking Add-On.

I ended by adding a few puffy stickers across the layout and I love the way it came out!

Life Crafted with Erica

Hey guys! Today I wanted to show you a few different ways to use the June Scrapbooking Add-on Kit and June digital files. I have two layouts in my Life Crafted album of activities I enjoyed during lockdown. And I ended up with two very different colour schemes!


I had lots of fun bird watching at home and trying to photograph these beauties before they flew away. Thankfully, they set up camp for a few minutes across the fence so I could snap a couple of pictures!




I started off with this amazing bird paper from the add-on kit and knew it was too perfect not to use. I toned it down a bit with a grid paper from the digital TN Basics papers, and backed my photo with a few more papers from the kit. I dug into the Maggie Holmes ephemera pack and created a cluster in the bottom right leaving some space for jounaling on the left.

The alphas in this kit from Pinkfresh Studio are adorable and have so many colours to choose from! I stuck to the colours found in my spread for the title, and it really highlights the greens and yellows in the papers. I also used the centers of the '0's and 'Q's as enamel dots to sprinkle around.





On the opposite page I created two clusters- one for fun and one for a photo. I used another digital TN Basics paper for my background. In my first cluster I used a bunch of scraps to layer and a square element from the digital Journal Cards with a label and a puffy sticker. I finished it off with a few more alphas and puffy dots.





On my second cluster, I layered a few pieces from the ephemera pack and a ticket from the Cravings Digital Tags and topped it off with a cute bird puffy sticker.





For my second layout I wanted to focus on the cooler tones in the kit. Namely the pinks, purples and blues- since this was early evening and my photos were quite dark. I had the idea to create a long title with the puffy alphas and was inspired by the adorable couch icon in the puffy stickers. Luckily there was also a bicycle!





On the left hand side of my spread I used a strip of patterned paper from the kit and layered two large photos with embellishments from the sticker sheets and digital Cutapart Elements.




I popped the lower photo up on foam to make it pop, and layered one of the acetate frames over the top.

Sunday Sketch with Patricia

Hello lovely CTK friends!  Today is Sunday Sketch, and I had such a blast using this sketch as a jumpstart for my next story in my Life Crafted album.

I always look at the layout of the sketch.  This one is vertical, and then I notice the layers/details. For my project today, those are the elements of the sketch I focused on.  Here's how I made it my own using the February Add-On kit.

I did some fussy cutting of the numbers from the pattern paper from the Add-On kit.  I wanted to use the 125 to represent the date, Jan 25, for Chinese New Year.  I also wanted to incorporate the Starbucks Year of the Rat card into my design based on the sketch.  Using all of these elements on one page was too much.  I saw this as a way to get creative with more layers using the brand new Life Crafted Adhesive Page Strips! 

After peeling the white strip to reveal the adhesive, I pressed my numbers into place (on the back of it), then after creating a punched border from pattern paper from the kit, I adhered that next.  I added a few embellishments from the kit to finish my new layered divider!!  These strips are my new fave!!

Although I knew I would use the Starbucks card, I kept that color in mind, pulling in the green pattern paper as a beautiful complement to the red, and the back side of the pattern paper from my divider works in beautifully as well.  To help tie that pattern paper divider into my full-size page, I fussy cut flowers and leaves from more pattern paper from the kit.

Drawing inspiration from the sketch, I trimmed a lighter piece of green pattern paper to place above the Starbucks card.  I used the Paw Prints Heart cut file, removing the paws so I could use just the heart.  I backed that with the same pattern paper I used from the divider to continue building on the vertical design of the sketch.  After adding my photo, I wanted to add more layers from the sketch, by adding embellishments from the add-on kit.

Lovely choices of die cuts, chipboard and puffy embellishments to add texture and color from the kit!

After focusing on inspiration from the sketch for this side, I quickly filled pockets for the left concentrating on keeping the pockets simple to balance the heavier layered right side.  I used a combination of the Life Crafted Possibilities kit and stamp set with the add-on to finish these pockets.

Photo Time with Marsha

Hey friends!  Marsha here today sharing another layout in my December Daily (using a Life Crafted Album).  For my project, I used mainly the December "Hustle and Heart" Kit and the Scrapbooking Add-on kit.

Here's a look at the layout I created:

I have really enjoyed using the non-Christmas themed items for my December documenting!  To begin my page, I trimmed a striped paper from the add-on kit to fit in the LC album.  I printed my photo and added it to the page, using a cut apart element and ephemera from the Life Crafted kit and add-on kit to embellish.  I recently purchased a mini tag punch and was excited to use it on the page.  I punched out the tag using one of the elements from the cut apart sheet from this month.  Next, I added some stamping to the tag using the 2x3 Stamp Add-on.  I added a bit of repeat stamping under the photo using the Life Crafted Kit Stamp.

For the other side of the layout, I used one of the 3x4 pocket pages for the LC album.  Using Photoshop, I opened the heart digital journaling card.  Because I needed more space than the journaling lines would allow, I deleted them from the card.  I typed my journaling, following the heart shape.  It's not perfect, but I am really happy with the results!  I trimmed the card slightly and layered a patterned paper behind.

For the other pocket, I opened one of the cards from the December Days digital journaling cards in Photoshop.  I deleted the highlighted "25," because I knew I wanted to include today's number in that spot.  I printed out the card and added a white puffy number sticker from a previous LC kit.  I also used the same alpha stickers for part of the title.  I stamped the word "PHOTO" using the Typewriter Alpha Stamp onto vellum and added it to the card.  To finish off the layout, I added some machine stitching to several areas on the page.
