KIT LOVE - September 2020

Hello there!
September is here, and we can feel the changes it brings along with it.   Kids are back at school ( remote or physical attendance), seasons are about the change - and we can feel it in the air -, and we are closely getting to the last part of the year.  All these changes bring on stories, and we are here to help you document them!

Our September Life Crafted kit: THE BEST PART is an ode to the transitional times.  The kit has been designed to help you document all your stories with a beautiful color palette and sweet sentiments.   Let's join Nathalie as she shares an unboxing of the Life Crafted kit and a few other goodies arriving at our shop:

All those floral and the beautiful color palette will have you finding the best part of each of your stories.  Remember to also check the new stamps and digital files that will be available in the shop.    These are the perfect complement to your stories.

Of course, there are a few of us who still like to have larger papers to play with.  So , we have curated a Scrapbooking Add-on kit that complements our September products and featured a few of the newest and latest releases from manufacturers:

The color palette of the kit as well as the beautiful paper designs will help you document all your stories -regardless of the format you are using-  Let's join Shannon as she shares a more detailed look at what is included in the kit:

In case you missed it,  we just released our first exclusive Christmas kit, "SPARKLE & JOY".   The kit is an ode to Christmas past with a touch of modern design.

We will start shipping our Christmas kit along our September kits, so be sure to get one ( we have limited quantities of the kit).  Here is Trina sharing a quick overview of what comes in the new kit:

We are so excited to start this new month with two new members in our team: Loredana Bucaria and Sabrina Poole.  They, along with the rest of our designers will continue to bring you inspiration every day.

We cannot wait to see what you create with the kits.  Remember to check the shop for all the kits, stamps and albums ( we will be restocking albums and adding new colors to our line up in the next few weeks).

Happy September everyone!

Hello lovely friends! Today I am sharing the first half of a family travel story to the stunning Fiji islands! I'm going back to my 2016 Project Life album- which is far from complete. I worked mainly with the digitals this month + the Traveler's Notebook stamp and the Turquoise Foam Alphas.

I designed my own title card on Photoshop by layering the coral and starfish ephemera on this fantastic rainbow grid paper. I used the Turquoise Foam Alphas from the kit and dug into my stash for this complementary Pink Chipboard Alpha.

I printed out most of the ephemera and tags to fussy cut and use traditionally, but I added a few elements straight onto my photos when I printed them. I layered a bunch of tags on this pool photo and combined them with a couple physical ones.  I also changed the color of the ice cream die cut to contrast against the pink food card I used.

The purple card in this photo was originally a smaller black box from the Digital Journal Cards. Altering it digitally gave me the freedom to change it to a lighter colour that suited my spread better. On the lower 4x6 photo I layered a few pieces from the Digital Cutaparts.

To finish off my spread I added a few phrases from the Traveler's Notebook stamp set. The layout needed a few more pops of black after I added the date stamping on my title card.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today! I hope I've given you a little inspiration to play with digitals!

Sunday Sketch with Sheree

Hello friends!

It’s Sheree here and today I have our Sunday Sketch to share with you all. Let’s take a look at today’s page design…

I really liked that this sketch was in the 8.5”x 11” size as it’s a format I enjoy working with so I stuck with it and followed it fairly closely.  Here’s the layout I came up with featuring the gorgeous August 2020 Scrapbooking Add-on Kit

I cut my white cardstock background to size and added a strip of the yellow patterned paper to the top and bottom, then layered a small strip of the hearts paper onto the right side of the bottom strip.  Machine stitching was added then I started work on the photo section.

I decided on the blue paper to go in behind the photo and tag, then matted the photo with the yellow and hearts papers. I adhered the matted photo into place and added more stitching. I tucked some messy thread in behind the top right corner of the photo, then added a chipboard flair and puffy camera sticker from the Scrapbooking Add-on Kit along with a chipboard arrow from the August Life Crafted Kit to the right side of the photo.

The camera tag was cut from one of the papers in the add-on kit to use to the left of the photo.  I punched a hole at the top, added some twine then adhered it into place.  Under the tag is another chipboard piece from the August Life Crafted Kit with a stamped phrase from the August 2020 This Is Life “Stories” Stamp Set layered on top.

At the top left of the page I stamped the phrase “funny story” from the August 2020 Life Crafted Traveler’s Notebook Stamp Set.  The title and journaling were added underneath then I stitched along each journaling strip.  To finish the page I added some tiny puffy stars around the layout.

You can see my process in the video below...

This sketch was so quick and easy to work with!  I hope you’ll have a go at it too!

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today!

3 To Inspire with Alena

Hey friends!  Alena here today with this week's 3-To-Inspire challenge.

Here are this week's 3 prompts:

  1. Make a cluster
  2. Use a large title.
  3. Use at least two stamps.

And here's what I came up with using the beautiful August Life Crafted Kit.

Clusters are one of my favorite things to create. The ephemera and lables in the Life Crafted kits are perfect for making  clusters. On the  right page, I layered up multiple kit pieces to create the cluster. I used labels, ticket, stamp, pieces of chipboard.

I used digital files for the title.

I also used this month's stamp sets to add accents.

Remember to share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or by using #CTK, @Citrustwistkits on social media.

Inspiration with Marivi

Hello everyone again, this atypical summer is over, I am looking forward to it and that in time we truly return to normal.
While we continue scrapping ...

I have two designs to show and I hope you like them.

For the first, I used one of the papers that I liked the most from the collection that comes in the August kit.

I have placed the photo, and I have been adding different ornaments.
With the puffy alphabet I have pasted the title in the bookmark, which I have used as one more page.

In the title I have played with color combining them with enamel dots and stamped words.

In this photo you can see the ornaments in detail ... I have mixed stickers, ephemera, chipboard.

For the second I have used the pieces of paper that I have left over from other designs.

I have cut some strips of paper and I have placed them under the photo, I have sewn them and I have added different elements.

With a stamp I have made a label between the papers, in addition to several ephemera.

I have also used pocket cards to complete the layout.

I wish you a good end of August!

Big Photo Layout by Angela

Hey friends!

Angela back with a brand new project featuring True Stories August kit. Today, I am sharing a fun scrapbook A4 size page made using a big photo.

The photo is from a couple of hears ago and I took it during our travel to Sicily. I printed it at home, with my Epson printer on regular photocopy paper.
I trimmed half inch all around the photo and created two embellished corners. At the top left, I layered two different patterned papers from the kit. I chose a fresh and summery combo in orange and pink that perfectly match with the color of my title.

The title is a die-cut always from the kit and I adhered it on the photo using some foam tape to make it pop and create some shadows.
As a subtitle, I printed the phrase Ready For This with black dye ink. This is from True Stories kit stamp, as well as the phrase Wild And Beautiful underneath.

On the opposite corner, at the bottom right, I cut a rough triangle shape from another piece of patterned paper. I adhered it creating a pocket to hold a tag where I wrote the journaling. To avoid that the tag get lost, I stapled the string directly on the side of the page.

I added a few embellishments on the corner and by the title, like this cute little shallow and I finish off with some machine stitching.
As I said, I printed the photo on photocopy paper so, to reinforce and make the layout sturdy, I adhered the page on an A4 white heavy card-stock.

That's all for today my friends. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog. I hope you like the page and feel inspired to create with True Stories Citrus Twist kits!
XO, NG

More with our Guest Designer - Jess Forster

Hello everyone!
We are so lucky to have Jess join us one more time this month!  She is an amazing documenter and friend, and you are going to love her new pages... I leave you with Jess..

Hi Friends! Happy Wednesday! I am happy to be back today, sharing two more entries in my Calypso Life Crafted summer moments album. As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I decided to create a summer 2020 scrapbook as a way to celebrate family moments in this current uncertain time. By using the August True Story Kit in this creative way, I not only have had fun but I have had an outlet to deal with stress! Have a look:

In my first entry, an asymmetrical pocket page, I documented the story of a recent tempo run where I logged my fastest pace to date! I was inspired to tell this story after seeing the 3x4 small happiness in daily lifecard which is found in the True Story Kit. Perfect for the album, I love when journaling cards, prompt us to record details that under normal circumstances, I would overlook. Hooray!

After recording my story, I then printed out an enlarged 4x8 photo. Pairing it with the colourful 3x4 flower filler card, I decided to highlight the colour pink and blue on this layout by using hearts, labels and puffy stickers on the photo and flower filler card. I finished by stamping the word story documentedon a bright pink label.

In my second entry , a double, 4x8 pocket page layout, I recorded the story of my daughter getting her ears pierced. Inspired by the peach 4x6 Good Timestitle card. I decided to ask my daughter, what her favourite memory from this summer.  Outsourcing your journaling can be a great way to find material and record multiple perspectives in your scrapbook.

After recording the simple question and answer on two 1.75x 1.75canvases that I created in Photoshop Elements, I then printed out four, 1.75x 1.75square photos. I arranged the photos in a checkerboard pattern. From there placed three butterfly diet cuts as well three turquoise stars in the visual triangle around the page. I finished by stamping the word candid momenton a coral label.

Telling small summer stories can be a great creative outlet and help you deal with the stress of the unknown. Whether you want to tell the stories of summers past or present, I hope my pages have inspired you to document! Thank you for reading +  and a BIG thanks to the Citrus Twist Team, including, Trina and Nathalie, for asking me to be their guest designer this month. I loved playing with all the pretty & fabulously designed products!!

We love what Jess has created with our kits this month! Her love for recording stories is palpable in this pages.   Remember to follow Jess on her social media, and if you are lucky to attend one of her in person classes, then you will fall in love with her radiant smile and love for documenting!   THANK YOU JESS for joining us!
