Pocket Life Challenge with Sheree

Hi everyone!

It’s Sheree with you here on the blog today and I have a new Life Crafted spread to share with you all.  I love the colours in the Gratitude Kit this month, don’t you?   They are so fun to create with… and the vellum leaves are just so pretty too.

I often find that when it comes to kits with pretty colours I’ll usually reach for photos of my daughter or myself to scrap, but today I’m using a photo of one of my boys…and I’m going to use a floral piece too!  That’s my challenge for you…to not be afraid to use flowers on a masculine page.  It’s something I don’t usually do but when I showed Ayden this page he loved it!

On the first full page, I layered the photo onto the grid paper from the kit and added some messy stitching in the top left corner with my sewing machine.  I always love the texture a little stitching adds to the page!

I also used a label from the cut-apart sheet and positioned it to go off the edge of the page.  The ‘wild one’ phrase from the November 2019 Life Crafted Traveler’s Notebook Stamp set was stamped onto some scrap white cardstock and layered onto the label with a row of stitching.

I chose a vellum leaf and floral piece to use in the bottom left of the photo.  Since the colours in that area of the photo were quite dark, I found that the colours on the vellum weren’t standing out as much as I wanted, so I backed them with some white cardstock which really made the colours pop.  They were stapled into place.

I stamped the ‘hello’ word from the November 2019 Life Crafted Traveler’s Notebook Stamp set and the ‘Happy Soul’ phrase from the Gratitude stamp set onto white cardstock, cut them out and added them to this part of the page as well.  A little more stitching was added and a puffy heart sticker too.  The date was then stamped at the bottom of the page using the date line from the November 2019 Life Crafted 2” x 3” Stamp Add-on set and a date stamp from my stash.

I used the super cute bird journaling card for the top right of the spread and added a chipboard accent, puffy heart sticker and some messy thread for a little texture.

My journaling was printed using the digital version of the card from the kit.  I left a space down the right had side for the ‘Great Story’ stamp which was stamped onto white cardstock and adhered down the side with some stitching.

You can see my process in the video below.

I really enjoyed putting this spread together and I hope I’ve brought you a little inspiration today!

Thank you for joining me on the blog today!  I’ll see you soon!

Sunday Sketch Challenge with Tina

Hey there! It's Tina here today with this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge. And here's a look at the sketch:

For this project I decided to use both the November Gratitude Life Crafted Kit and the November Add On Kit.

I started by creating a paper cluster around the photos using pattern papers from the both kits. After that I added small details such as labels, puffy stickers and die cut shapes.

Next I adhered two strips of paper along the left side of a 12x12 white cardstock, added some splatters and glued down the paper cluster with the photos. Then I decided to use the "make your own magic" die cut shape from the Add On kit as a title, but to add some dimension I used puffy adhesive squares to add the title to the page. And after that I printed my journaling, cut it into a few strips and adhered it near the title.

In the end I decided to add a brown label with a date stamped on it under the pink strip of paper. And that's it. I really liked how easily this layout came together. And I hope you'd like to create your own project using this sketch too! Make sure to share it on the CTK Fan Page on Facebook or on Instagram using the hashtag #citrustwistkits.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Until next time!

Let's Get Digital with Marsha

Hey friends! Marsha here today, and I am sharing a layout in my Life Crafted Album focusing on some digitals from the Citrus Twist Kits shop.  I used one of the subscriber bonus journaling cards from this month as a background paper for my layout.  I loved this card and thought it would be perfect enlarged on a page.

Here's a look at my layout:

To begin the spread, I opened the journaling card file in Photoshop and enlarged it to approximately 4" wide.  Next, I printed it out on some white cardstock and trimmed it to the size of my TN page.

Since the background of the page was done, I began creating the layout using the Life Crafted Gratitude kit.  I added my photo to the page and used a stamp from the This Is Life "Grateful" Stamp to stamp a floral piece at the edge of my photo.  I stamped the date onto a printable cutapart label from this month and tucked it behind the photo.  A vellum leaf and puffy heart sticker completed the simple embellishing around the photo.

For the title, I stamped the word "hello" from the November Traveler's Notebook Stamp.  To complete the title, I used some tile alpha stickers (from a previous LC kit) and the glitter foam stickers from this month's kit.  I did not have enough Ls, so I trimmed two of the lowercase Fs to make the Ls.  I added more of the vellum leaves and stamped another floral from the TN Stamp.  To complete this side of the spread, I added some machine stitching to the edge of the page and to the stems of the leaves.

For the other side of the spread, I decided to focus on the vellum leaves from the Life Crafted kit.  I placed them randomly on the white cardstock base and added a bit more stamping with the Grateful Stamp.  To finish off the spread, I added some machine stitching to the stem of each leaf.

Here's one final look at the layout:

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope this has inspired you to use some digital elements on your next project.  I will see you again soon!

Pocket Life Challenge with Diane

Hi Guys! Diane here with another Pocket Life Challenge for you!

When it comes to my Project Life, I've been on a real neutral kick lately. As much as I love colour, it's nice to give your photos a chance to shine on their own occasionally.

So my challenge to you today is: Create a page using a monochromatic colour scheme!

The one thing in the November kit that didn't work with my grey/green colour scheme was those gorgeous glittery alphas, so I subbed in the "hello" from the Traveler's Notebook Stamp Set and used my fave little Outline Alphas to finish off my title card.

I made sure to use plenty of those grey tiny word stickers as well, I can't get enough of those sassy little sayings!

There were SO many gorgeous cards that worked with my colour scheme in the kit, but I also loved this grid patterned paper. I simply trimmed it down to 3x4 to create my own card. A sticker, some chipboard and a simple stamp created the perfect little cluster on the left.

I added a tiny sticker to my favourite quote card and then repeated the same embellishment cluster on the right to create a sense of balance and repetition (and to stop me getting decision fatigue!).

The green on the other 4x6 card on the kit was just a little too bright, so I flipped it over and covered up a couple of the bright blue design elements with my photo and a sticker. The grey worked perfectly!

Here's a look at the process this spread took ...

I can't wait to see what you do with this challenge so don't forget to post your layouts in the Facebook Fan Page so we can see!
