Hey there, it's Kathleen here and first of all, I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxed Christmas with all your loved ones! Today it's my turn to share a Sunday Sketch with you, so let's have a look at it first:
And here is my take on it:
As you can see, I stuck almost 100% to the sketch. The only thing I really changed is the placement of the journaling (I added mine as hidden journaling and I will show you in a second how and where) and the alignment of the two photos.
For my photos I printed the same one twice (of my husband and our dog - who loves to sleep on my side of the bed as soon as I leave); once in colour and once in black and white. Because I didn't want to cover up too much of our dog in the right photo, I decided to add my photos kind of offset.
For my title I used this gorgeous "story" die cut from the ephemera pack in the Scrapbook kit and also added one of the little tags from the exclusive cutouts page. "Down & Out" seemed quite appropriate for this page :D
As I said before, I added my journaling as hidden journaling. On the one hand because I didn't feel it would fit below my photos and on the other because I wanted it to be handwritten. Since I'm not too fond of my handwriting, though, I went for this solution.
I cut out one of the tags from the Crate Paper "Good Vibes" cut aparts paper, slid it into the glassine bag that the little cork pieces came in, and layered this behind my photo on the right.
For the paint splatters in the sketch I used some Color Shine sprays from my stash, some star puffy stickers from the Maggie Holmes "Carousel" collection, some of the exclusive epoxy sticker dots and these really cute little starburst stamps from the exclusive stamp set.
I am absolutely in love with those little starbursts, so I had to add quite a few of them! I think they add such an interesting touch to this cluster and I'm quite sure they will make an appearance on many more of my projects :D
I also added some more details like the red and blue stitching on the left and right side, the stickers in the lower left corner and the little tag in the upper right corner peeking out from behind the paper strips.

Hi friends! Emma on the blog today and I am so excited to share my completed December album! Yep, you read that right; I have actually finished it - wohooo! I am so happy I could dance, ha!
I've already shared the first few pages of my album in the CTK Facebook Fanpage but I thought I'd share the whole album here so apologies if you're already seen a few of these before ;) I used the Christmas Stories kits for the majority of my album but there are also pieces from previous years kits and other random things from my stash throughout.
This year I went with a 4x4 album and painted the cover (it was white with purple spots, I covered the whole thing in white paint and added gold spots!). I'm definitely not going to win any awards with this paint work, but I actually don't mind how it turned out! Edges are wearing already but that's OK.
The album has finished up ALOT chunkier than I'd anticipated. I love a chunky mini but this one is really stretching the limits! I've had to use a band to keep it closed because it can't close properly (and I need to be a little careful turning the pages so the rings don't pop open...oops!). I used a red elastic band I had in my stash from who-knows-what and added a few "charms" - a die cut, sticker and actual charm (from a dear friend!).
Before I go on too much, here's a quick flip through of the whole album (sped it up 2x so it's just over a minute, didn't want it to take too long and bore you all!):
Rather then show photo's of every page, I thought I'd just share a few of my favourites and talk about those but if you have any questions about others, please leave a comment below and I'll get back to you!
The most surprising thing I've noticed about my album (now that it's all done) is the amount of
red I've used! Red isn't a colour I use a lot of (scrapbooking and in real life) but it's on
almost every page of this album and I actually love it!
I love my intro page - it's super simple but something different. I had some gold craft wire in my stash so I used that to form my circle and used the hot-glue gun to stick it down. Then I picked a few chipboard stickers and white sequins and stuck them on top (using the glue-gun again). So easy right?
No mini-album of mine is complete without some kind of sequin pocket. I love them. I think they add a fun interactive element to any book. I used my sewing machine to stitch the top of my page so they don't pop out (one day I'll invest in the Fuse...).
On this page I used one of the papers from the December Add-on (Sweater Weather "Cozy") and added various stickers inside each of the boxes and added some (red!) pompom trim at the bottom of the page. Another simple but effective page to put together (it's how I roll!).
The majority of my album relates to the elf and his daily antics. We don't typically do a whole lot of "Christmas-themed" activities during the month (other than the crazy shopping) but we do have our elf, Freddie, and he is always entertaining so I include everything he does in my album. All of my journaling is typed up on the computer (using a typewriter font) because I'm not too fond of my own handwriting. Actually that's not true, my handwriting is fine until I put it on a scrapbooking page, and then I think it makes it look messy, haha. Weird but true.
I've also included a few random notes from the elf and tucked them behind the photo/journaling and just used ribbon that's stapled to the tops so you can pull them out. And yes, more red....
My album is actually repetitive in the layouts I've used - such as this one - I used big photos and added a word/embellishment directly on top, then for my journaling I'll either have it on the page beside or on a tag of some sort. I love having different textures in my album so I've used various ribbons/twine/elastics to loop the tags over the rings. (Although I picked up the WRMK Crop-A-Dile so I'm currently addicted to adding eyelets to everything!!)
I completely forgot to take photo's when we went to my brothers for our Christmas Day lunch. I packed the camera/tripod so I could get the family photo's but never got around to it! Just means we were having too much fun hanging out :) I also blame the fact that I was super tired, haha - I got to bed late and Zack was up super early....I am a girl who need her sleep!
But it's not the end of the world, sure the photo's would have been great but I added a quick little note saying I'd forgotten and talked about the awesome food. We love our food ;)
Using the Christmas Stories kits made this album so easy to put together. And it all coordinated so well with pieces from previous years Christmas kits so I was able to use up pieces from those too (I never, ever throw out or give away my Christmas-themed items haha, they stay in my stash forever!).
I loved putting this little book together; makes me so happy to have those random little bits down on paper (with photos) so that hopefully in the years to come, we can look back and have a little giggle about the fun we had at Christmas time (while Zack still believed in the magic ;) ).

It's Veera here today to share a quick and simple layout that you can put together in no time during this busy season. This layout has two main design elements: tags and white tulle. The inspiration for this layout came actually from the white tulle. As I wanted to show case that I picked the woodgrain pattern paper.
I stapled the tulle directly to the paper and covered the staples with bow stickers. For the tags, I just layered them next to each other with the picture to create a horizontal line.
With the tulle and tags, this layout didn't need that much embellishments so I just added some stickers and title + some Citrus Twist Kits exclusive cork embellishments that went so well together with the background.

Today we have Christmas Eve and this is the day we are celebrating Christmas here in Sweden.
I know most of you probably have to wait until December 25 for your big day of celebrations. Or maybe thats a releif, one more day to get the last things done before Christmas, LOL!
Any way, let's look at our gorgeous sketch to play with.
I really like this photo of our son totally cought up by the ride in a cableway last December up in the Swedish moutains.
I didn't change to much from the sketch as you can see.
For making my background I've used a few different color mists using the "plasic bag" technique.
Love this way of adding inks to a page, you have sort of control yet get a pretty uncontrolled feeling, that's perfect, lol!
Some stitches, of course! That's almost a must for me on my layouts.
My second "must have" are the cotton undernetath my photos and/or embellies.

Hi friends! Emma here to share my layout using this week's Sunday Sketch. First up, let's look at our sketch for today:

As you can see I've not changed too much from the sketch - the layout is basically the same.
The page started with the ink splatters to match the sketch. I have a love/hate relationship with "messy" things - particularly ink splatters. They never seem to go where I want them to no matter how careful I am. Took me 3 attempts to get it right, haha. I mean I get that they're meant to be a little random but I obsess about the size and spacing..I know, I'm crazy right? ;)
Once I was happy with my splatters, I picked my photo - I love it because it has alot of gorgeous blue sky but what really I love is the sun flare in the top right of the photo. I went with a yellow patterned paper (sun flare...sun....yellow....you seeing my logic? ha!) and teamed it up with a neutral pattern papter, then layered those underneath my photo just like the sketch.
My title on the RHS was the most fun to put together! I brought together a few pieces from the Main kit and layered them all down the RHS of my photo (popping a few foam dots behind a few of them to give it a bit of dimension). Those gold Thickers from the Main kit are gorgeous so I paired it up with a few of those die-cuts.
Because the title/phrase words had extended the full height of my photo on the RHS I just popped my journaling on the bottom left of my photo (being sure I didn't block any of those rather specifically placed ink splatters!).
To finish off my page I machined stitched at the
top/bottom of my page (in black cotton for a bit
of contrast) and popped a few of the gold thicker stars around my page to match in with the gold letters of my title (balance things out given I didn't have gold anywhere else).
This sketch was such a fun and easy one to work with.

Hi CTK friends! It's Kathleen here and it's time for another 3-to-Inspire challenge!
First up let's look at the prompts I used for my page:
1. Incorporate different textures in your layout. Use at least one other medium apart from paper (like the white tulle or some gesso, paint or texture paste). 2. Use more than one photo.3. Add some paper tearing.
And here is the page I created for this challenge:
I'm usually not a very big fan of red in my projects, but Christmas season seems to be the only time it is working for me and the look of this Christmassy red together with the black and white is really growing on me :D So for my layout I used the December "Sonoma" Scrapbook Main kit, as well as one little phrase sticker from the Embellishment kit (the red one on my photo). For my papers and embellishments I stuck to the ones that had black, white and red in them because I felt these really helped make my photos pop and because I also wanted that winter-y feel.
For the different textures I decided to add a piece of the white tulle that was included in the Scrapbook Kit behind one of my photos and also use some of my Tonic Studios Nuvo Glimmer Paste (in Moonstone) from my stash together with one of my favourite stencils. It kind of looks like snowflakes or snow flurry, which fitted these photos perfectly. It's difficult to see in the photos, but I added the glimmer paste on the white part of my layout around and behind my photos.
I also included different kinds of textures in the embellishments of my page: I used some of the exclusive cork pieces, the exclusive epoxy stickers, some paper die cuts and some of the Maggie Holmes "Carousel" puffy stickers. Even though the colour scheme is far from what I'd normally choose, I am very happy with how this layout turned out. I hope you feel inspired to give this challenge a try and I can't wait to see what you will create! :) So, use the three prompts to create your own project/s and share them with us here in the gallery and/or our Facebook Forum.

Hi lovelies! Anna here today. Happy Tuesday and welcome to my little tutorial time,YAY!
I'll share with you how I make my own TN-Cover. I'ts easy peasy, I promise.
I've made a , hopefully, easy to follow step by step tutorial for you to look at.
Take your time and please ask if you have any questions.
1: You need some sort of thicker paper or like my choice, a piece of burlap with one side plastic covered.
2:Use your insert (there's two awesome Tutorials of how to make your own here and here) to measure the size of your cover, remember to make it slighly bigger than the insert since it will "grow" when you start to fill your insert with your lovely creations.
3:Cut it out, I used my old trusty scissors :)
4:Fold it in the middle to make a spine.
5-6: Again, use your insert to mark out where to do your holes for the elastic bands to hold your insert and to "lock" your TN-Cover.
7-8: Punch out the holes.
9-11: Mount the elastic bands.
12: Put your insert inside your brand new "made by yourself" TN-Cover :) YAY!!!
Here's a sneak of how I embellished my "homemade" insert using the fabulous ephemeras from the December Add On Kit.
