Open Post with Angela

Hello everyone!

It's Angela here on the blog with a new spread of my Life Crafted album featuring the May 2020 Journeys Life Crafted kit.

For my layout, I went for a page of embellishments and stamped phrases on a white strip of cardstock. The strip measures 4,25 x 8,25 inches and I adhered it on a beautiful green paper and white flowers from the kit. The base green paper is slightly wider than the white one, it's about 5,25 inches so it peeks from the sides.

I arranged stamps and embellishments in line, starting from the mint leather puffy sticker. Then, I started stamping a mix of words in different colors, to create the phrase Vacation Seeking, Relax Needing. The words Vacation, Relax and the little scalloped line are from May 2020 Traveler's Nootebook, while I made the Seeking and Needing using 4" x 6" Solid $ Outline Alphabet & Number stamp set.

After what I can call the title of my pages, the second part of the page is more a line of embellishments. I placed a sticker, a chipboard and a die-cut piece.

I stamped in color, following the color scheme of this little piece shown in the picture below. It is a journaling card from the kit I cut in a square of 2x2 inches. The phrase is slightly cut out but still readable.

The second page is a  2x2 pocket page, you can find this page protector here on the CTK shop, with a sequence of pictures. The funny faces are of my hubby who, I admit, isn't so happy to be published ;P

That's all for today, friends. I hope you liked the spread and feel inspired to create with the amazing Citrus Twist Kits kits. Happy crafting!

Life Crafted with Ashley Horton

Hi there everyone!  I hope you are all doing well and finding some time to work with your Life Crafted Kits!  I'm here today with a new layout, using the May Journeys Life Crafted Kit.  I LOVE to make travel layouts, so this month's Kit is right up my alley!

When I sat down to work on this layout, I knew I wanted to use the Daytripping Stamp with the May Kit.  I stamped the rectangle on white paper and cut each one out.  Then I stamped some of the phrases and images with some of my colored inks.  I used my 1 inch hole punch to punch out the circles.  Before adding them to the rectangle, I machine stitched around each of the circles to add some texture.

Once I had all of the stamping completed, I used one of the 6x8 patterned papers for my background.  I arranged all of the stamped rectangles on my background paper and off-set them to create some interest in the design.  I also wanted to add some dimension and more embellishing, so I placed Chipboard Stickers, Tiny Word Stickers and Ephemera with each of the stamped rectangles.

I decided to make my photo as large as I could to go across the page on the right-hand side.  I always like to bring attention to my photo, by adding embellishments around it or directly over the photo.  Most of the time, I keep this in mind when I am taking my photos and intentionally shoot them with white space in the photo.  I used a Chipboard Sticker, Faux Leather Sticker and Tiny Word Sticker over my photo.

To finish the layout, I decided to add a vertical title to off-set the horizontal photo.  I cut one of the tags from the ephemera pack and placed the two pieces above and below my photo.  Then, I used the Puffy Alpha stickers for my title.

I hope you've been inspired by my layout today, and got some ideas for your next layout!  Even though the May Journeys Kit is sold out, you can still purchase it in Digital format.  And make sure you are keeping up with Citrus Twist on Social Media to see some sneak peeks of the gorgeous June Kit!

Life Crafted with Erica

Hello friends! This is Erica here with a new spread in my Life Crafted album using the wonderful May Jounreys kit and Travelers Notebook papers!

I've been enjoying scrapping past travels with this kit, but it also works for all your hometown adventures. Daily walks down to the beach during quarantine kept me sane!

I started by choosing two of the May Travelers Notebook papers. It doesn't take much to make one of these TN pages look great! Just add your photos, a few bits of embellishment and some stamping (or journaling) and you're good to go.

I'm definitely a fan of any page that gives me little boxes to fill in! There's just something very satisfying about filling up all the spots of with photos and journaling. Especially if you need something to kick-start your creativity. It gives you a jumping off point.

The stamps this month will also work for whatever kind of adventure you're scrapping (mountains, forest, road trip..) and there's a few beach/coast theme ones that were perfect for this spread. Coastal reset? Yes, please!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Be sure to tag #CitrusTwistKits on Instagram with anything you make with your kit this month!

Hybrid Memory Planner & Life Crafted with Patricia | Video

Hello CTK Friends!  Hope you are loving the May Journeys Life Crafted kit as much as I have.  I have found this kit to work really well with at home photos these days.  Since staying home, I have changed to a weekly memory planner format, since I have more photos than I normally would.  I am using the Retrohipmama digital planner.

I print the calendar in the PDF form to get a blank calendar.  I go through the week of photos, and print them using Lightroom to the size needed to fit the calendar.  Then I used Photoshop Elements to use the Citrus Twist Kits digital cards to size them to fit on the calendar.  Retrohipmama also has that template.  I do find I have to trim them down a little more to fit.  I add my journaling to them, print and trim to adhere.

Next, I start stamping and adding from the Life Crafted kit.

I have two other projects to share here today using the May Life Crafted kit.  This project was shared earlier on Social Media and my YouTube channel showing how I use the CTK digital elements, both PNG and a simple print and cut.

I love the look from the April pattern paper over that PNG file here, then printing it over the physical May pattern paper.  All the elements on top are the free Stay Home print and cuts available in the Facebook Fan page, except for the flower die cut from the kit.

The card is from the kit, and the 'covid 19' is the print and cut.

I used the new Daytripping stamp with my 1" photos.

Then added more print and cut and kit elements to finish.

You can watch my video with screen shots of how I used the digital elements and how this came together in HD on my YouTube channel here or below.

My last project was for the Stamping Challenge for NSD.  I also used the free NSD CTK digital elements in both print and cut and cut files.

A close up of the mix of cut files and print and cuts.  The stamping is with the Daytripping stamp.  So many great uses for the stamp set.  Here I continued the image by connecting it as a stamped across the page, changed the direction of it, and also stamped on the May Life Crafted pattern papers and detail cut out.

I attached the house and button NSD cut file available in the Fan Page to the May Life Crafted card.

Then used another kit card for my journaling and added a print and cut and kit sticker to finish.

Here is the video process of how this came together in HD or you can watch it below.

Hope these ideas inspire you to use this kit for our current memories as well as your traveling memories!

Hybrid Life Crafted Layout with Marsha

Hey friends!  Marsha here today sharing a hybrid layout in my Life Crafted Album.  I used the Life Crafted Journeys Kit, This Is Life Daytripping Stamp, and lots of digital files from the shop.

Here's a look at the layout:

To begin the spread, I enlarged a map patterned paper from the Journeys Digital TN Pattern Papers to 5"x8.25" so that it would fit as a full page in the album.  I created another canvas (sized to 4.25"x8.25") and added several of the arrow stamps from the Daytripping Digital Stamp Set.  I was careful to leave space in the center for the geotag cut file that I planned to add later.  I printed the papers, trimmed them to size, and adhered them so that the arrow paper was on top.  Next, using Silhouette Studio, I sized a geotag from the Journeys Titles Cut File to fit in the area I had left on the page and cut it out using a blue patterned paper from the kit.  I added some hand-stitching to the cut file for added texture and interest.  I always love the results when I take the time to add stitching to a layout!

I stamped the word "travel" and the trees icon stamp from the Daytripping Stamp to the map patterned paper and used a circle die to cut it out.  I added it to the center of the geotag to serve as the title.  To complete this page, I stamped some sentiments from the Daytripping Stamp and also added a camera icon stamp to the bottom of the page.

For the right side of the layout, I opened a digital paper from the Journeys TN Basics Digital Papers and typed my journaling onto the page.  I printed it out on white cardstock, added my photos, and used an ephemera piece and chipboard stickers from the kit to embellish it.  I also did a bit more stamping using the Daytripping Stamp and the LC Kit Stamp.  To complete the title, I used the aqua puffy alphabet stickers from the kit.  I also added a "19" to the top of the spread, because my husband and I were celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary on this trip!

Be sure to check out all of the amazing digital files that are available in the Citrus Twist Kits shop!  I will see you again soon!
