3 - To - Inspire with Anna

Hi dear CTK friends! Anna here today sharing this months last 3 -To - Inspire challenge!
I love this fun challenge, always full of new inspiration to give us a little extra push to get scrapbooking. And also for the chance to win something little extra from the CTK store as well.

I hope you'll join in this week using the following prompts:

1. Use Chipboard or Cardstock stickers
2. Use 3 or more patterned papers ( using both front and back side of one paper counts as 2 )
3. Use some thread/ twine on your page

And here's the page I came up with!

I mixed my Main Scrapbook Kit with the Embellishment Kit for this page. To get my 3 patterned papers I've actually used the front and back side of one paper plus one more :)

Isn't that pom-pom trim just gorgeous? So lovely!
I created a cluster of different embellishments from both kits.

Another cluster using one of the labels from the CTK exclusive cut apart sheet together with some of the embellishments and CTK exclusive phrase stickers. And, of course, some machine stiching. In fact it's rare for me to not use any stiching on my layouts, lol!

That's all from me!

Now it's your turn! Use the three promts to create your own projects and share them whit us here in the gallery and/or at our Facebook Forum. I can't wait to see your take on this challenge!

Thanks for stopping by! Take care! Anna xo

Fresh Start + PL Goals with Tara

Hi friends! Wishing you well this year - hoping it got off to a good start for you so far. A new year always means new beginnings, 365 chances, and more fun!Of course it also gets us crafty peeps thinking how do we want to document the next year? Do we stay the same? Do we change things up?

Less of this, more of that...this year I went up in size to 9x12. I absolutely ADORE my 6x8 albums but I really longed for a bit more space and want to focus on more stories - both long and short.

Here is my title page for my 2017 album:

I had a couple photos from our trip to Ireland that I didn't get printed yet - and really loved them so much! I loved the way the black and white photo of my husband and I had some space to add in fun cut-aparts and word stickers.

I absolutely love cork pieces and the die cuts from the 'Jameson' PL kit. I really love adding embellishments to the outside of the pocket, as well as inside too.

I have a ton of Citrus Twist stamps that I love and had to use so many of them. I used a ton of things from my stash which made me happy to finally bring them out and put them to work.

I also wanted to share some of my crafty goals with you and I hope you share yours too!

  • Use up my stash - use all the nice things, do not hoard, do not hoard...
  • Don't stress - if I only have enough to document a week on one page, then do it! Go with the flow - enjoy the process and have fun memory keeping.
  • Set up a weekly workflow - this is for editing, printing, and crafting. Instead of waiting for a few weeks to go by, I plan to do these things weekly so I can spend more time making stuff.
  • Less - less options and choices. I want have minimal choices to make so I'm not overthinking my layouts or sifting through loads of things.
  • Finish projects. It may take me a few months past the project - but I do want to see more mini albums and other projects done instead of just 'hanging around'.
  • HAVE FUN!

Thank you for stopping by! I can't wait to hear what you plan to do this year and see your layouts documenting January.
Have a lovely day! Xxo, Tara

PL Sketch Friday with Tara

Happy Friday friends! Tara here on the blog with today's challenge - I do hope you join in. As always, don't forget to read through to the end to see how you can win some happy mail.

**This post is picture heavy!!**

For the month of November, I'm working in my traveler's notebook on a daily photo journal of thanks and gratitude. My friend Elise over at Feed Your Craft has been doing My Thankful 30 since 2013. I haven't done a project like this before, so I was super excited to join in the fun. The November Emerson PL kit was just perfect for this too!

Here is what I came up with for prompt 6; I made it more about where my home is instead of the town or city I call home. I love that you can tweak the prompts or use different ones - whichever fits your heart and your gratitude best.

I wanted to include a quote about home. To make the page a little more interesting, I added some white gesso and mixed water and the antique linen Tim Holtz distress ink to create some small paint splatters.
I used past Citrus Twist Kits stamps to make a border on top and my favorite this month - the chipboard word pieces to add some depth and color.

Here is the whole left page. I didn't want to waste any extra bits from the exclusive triangle puffy alphabet, so I took the triangle sliver from the "A" and used it as an embellishment.

Here is a look at the right side:

I made a cascading photo collage because I couldn't use just one photo. It was really simple - just add washi to both front and back sides and a little bit more to use as a guide to flip up!

Here are the other photos and flip through of them in this layout:

I created a hidden journaling card using some cardstock in my stash and added more patterned paper. Some of the washi I used was from my stash, included the ones from the October Waverly Scrapbook kit.

Here are both pages again. I think that this sketch would work well for a double layout or pocket pages. The sky is the limit.

Finally here is your sketch!

Thank you for stopping by today! For your chance to win, create a project (layout/pocket pages/traveler's notebook pages/mini album, etc) based on this sketch. Post your project in our Gallery and/or Facebook Fan Page with the title PL11/18. Post your entries by Friday, November 25th, 2016.

Have a lovely day!

Sunday Sketch

Hi all and welcome to this weekend's edition of the Sunday Sketch Challenge! Today's sketch features two photos and looks like this:

I worked with the lovely October "Waverly" Scrapbook and Embellishment kit for my layout and I stayed pretty close to the sketch:

I moved my title and journaling slightly because there wasn't enough room between the patterned paper and stitching for both. I also pulled two tags from my stash to compliment the papers and embellishments from the kits.

Now it's your turn! To play along with this week's sketch challenge, create a layout inspired by the sketch, upload it to the CTK Gallery with today's date (10/2) in the title, and you will be eligible to win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK Store!

Kit Love with Michelle

Happy July everyone! A new month means a new batch of kits and I am super stoked to give a little bit of kit love to the awesome July Scrapbook and Sprinkles Kits!

This month the kits feature an amazing color palette, with an out of this world blue that just might be my new favorite color!   Really, it's great and you can check it out in all it's glory in this little video I filmed while unpacking my kits and getting them ready to work with:

Well, what do you think about July??  I know I was pretty happy with what I unpacked! And how about the new Nuvo Crystal drops?  Exciting stuff for sure!

Wishing you a happy month of crafting!
