SUNDAY SKETCH WITH MARINA

Hello, CTK friends!
Today Marina with you and here is my inspiration in our Sunday Sketch Challenge: I added my lovely page to the spread of my 6x8 January album and I just love how easy it is to do this using our sketches! :)

Here's that beautiful sketch that helped me today: I turned it upside down (you remember that you can do literally anything with sketches, right?...)
...and this is what came out of it :)

For the design of the page I used our great February Cherish Mini-Kit and adorable White/Blue Alpabet Stickers which none of my spreads this year have been without :)

To bring the whole spread into balance, I added a beautiful flower and a couple of inscriptions to the card on the opposite side, using our February Digital Printable Elements:
And honestly, I really like the result! :))
I love sketches and use them often when creating my pages, and you can find them on our blog literally every Sunday, don't miss out!
We always look forward to seeing what you create with them, so be sure to tag Citrus Twist Kits in your posts!

Thank you all for your attention and have a great week!
XO

3-to-inspire with Suzanne

Hello friends, Suzanne here with a new 3 ways to inspire! And a challenge:)

For this page in my 6x8 album I used the February collection and here are the 3 prompts:

1. Use 2 design papers

2. Use a cutfile

3. Use your ephemera

For the first prompt, I choose 2 different design papers from the digital cherish collection. I love the font on this paper so I printed it out a little bigger so it would make a big colorful page to add my photo.

I just loved the vintage ephemera in the kit so I used that a the base for my cluster, then I combined my cluster with one of the cutfiles from the February release. I made a background so it would "pop” more on my spread and love how the cutfile became a center point.

As a final touch I made a small black line around all the edges so the phot’s would stand out even more.

I hope you like this challenge and I can’t wait to see what you create!

Lots of love Suzanne

Sunday Sketch with Jasmin

Hi friends, Jasmin here with a 6*8 Layout using the Sunday Sketch.

First, I printed the digital CTK 2019 December LC 7A-01.png Journal Card on a4 size.

For the circles I used the SIMPLE SCREEN JANUARY 2022 file.

I used two pictures from a Sunday walk to document in my Album.

This Layout came together so fast.

I choose Embelishements and stickers from older CTK products.

I hope you like it.

Have a wonderful day.

3-To-Inspire with Jennie

Hi Everyone! This is Jennie with your 3 To Inspire Challenge.

These are your three prompts for this week:

1. Play with the sizes of the digital journaling cards and travelers notebook papers.

2. Layered stamping with different shades or colors.

3. Create interactive elements.

I mixed elements from Cherish and Slow Down. I was working on my book journal which is 4x6 so I changed the sizes from one journaling card and one travelers notebook page to fit the book. Changing sizes and even colors is one of my favorite things to do with digital elements. You don't have to be tech savvy. You can even do it with Microsoft Word.

Use light ink colors while stamping to create a subtle background. To make an element pop use a darker color. Even though the phrase "Book Lover" is in black, it has a nice balance with the pink because the font is smaller and thinner than the Ginger Alpha Stamp

I used the books from the Life Crafted Slow Days Traveler's Notebook Digital Paper to cut out these books. I left extra space on the left, next to the spine, so I could fold a tab and glue it to the paper. That way I could "open" my book and add my little review inside.
I love how the right page looks like a bunch of books resting on a tablecloth.
You can make these mini books, cards or little albums.
Share your inspired projects with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Fan Page.
Take Care!

SUNDAY SKETCH with Marci

Hello Friends! It is Marci here. I am so excited to post my first Sunday Sketch Challenge for Citrus Twist Kits! Here is the sketch we are working with today.

Sketches can be followed exactly as they are drawn or they can be used just as motivation to get you started. One great thing about sketches is that they can be turned in any direction which can give the viewer a completely different design. That is what I did today with this sketch. I turned it 90 degrees. By making the sketch horizontal rather then vertical, I now have a sketch with the same proportions as a life crafted, out of the page protector layout.

Here is my final layout.

I started with two pieces of textured, white card stock, cut to 5in wide by 8.25in tall. I knew I wanted to document a recent walk on the beach I took with my dog. It was a gorgeous day and the pictures came out with beautiful blue colors. The peach card stock dollie in the cherish ephemera pack paired beautifully with the blues in my photos. I started with this element first by placing it at the top of the left page, similar to the circle element in the sketch. Next, I wanted my largest photo to take center stage so I placed it also on the left side under the the area that would house the title.

That left my three smaller photos. I placed them on the right side is a zig-zag pattern similar to the sketch’s placement.

Another key element in the sketch is a wide piece of pattern paper that goes top to bottom in the original image or side to side in the rotated sketch. I started off using the dark blue cherish digital journal card and printing it as a long strip of paper. I like the dark blue paper with my water photos. I needed another paper to add interest to my page but not distract from the photos. I decided to use a light grey ink and stamp my own patterned paper. There is an elongated hexagon on the Cherish Stamp Set that reminded me of cobblestones. I thought that would work perfect.

After placing all the large elements on my page I filled in some of the blank spaces with the blue and peach flowers from the ephemera pack as well as some hearts and dots from the Cherish puffy word, phrase and numbers snippet sheet.. Lastly, the sketch had dotted lines drawn at the top and bottom of the sketch. They made me think of stitch lines so I added some white stitching to some embellishments on each page. I think it give the layout some added interest and texture.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you find this sketch as fun as I did.  Have a great Sunday being creative!

3-To-Inspire with Traci Reed

Hey, Hey, Hey! Traci Reed here today bringing you this week's 3-To-Inspire Challenge!  Since it's February, the second month of the year, I was inspired by the number TWO for this challenge!

  1. Use a TWO color palette like the pink and yellow one I chose from the Cherish release!
  2. Use TWO Stamp Sets (I used the Cherish Stamp Set and the Ginger Alpha Stamp for my page)
  3. Use TWO frames (I've got the fun cork one from the Cherish Mini Kit + one from the Flea Market Findings Chipboard on my page!
BONUS CHALLENGE
Use two of the SAME photo on your spread!

This large stamped motif I made with the Ginger Alpha Stamp is SO fun and it was neat focusing on stamping for a page - not something I normally do!

Bonus points if you make a patterned paper your own by adding stamping like I did to the yellow dot paper in the Cherish Digital Papers by adding pink hearts stamped from the Cherish 6x8 Stamp Set.

I can't wait to see what you do with this challenge!

Sunday Sketch with Desiree Lamar

Hey CTK friends! Today I am here to share my take on this week's sketch challenge with the gorgeous Cherish Mini-Kit.

Let's take a look at the lovely sketch.

I'm a sucker for layering so I could not wait to give this sketch a try.

I started by backing my white cardstock on floral paper. Then I chose this soft yellow-lined patterned paper from the Cherish Traveler's Notebook Digital Papers that would not compete with the large cluster.

Then I added a pretty, pink, floral journal card from the Cherish Digital Journals Cards. After layering my photos on each side of the card, I used this pink doily from the Cherish Die Cut Ephemera. Once I typed my journaling on vellum, I placed it on the doily.

I layered in the florals from the Cherish Die Cut Ephemera to help create balance in this large cluster. Then placed the Cherish Puffy Word, Phrase, and Number Stickers and Cherish Heart Stickers throughout the layout.

I used the Sadie Teal Green Alpha Stickers to create my title. I love how perfectly the alpha colors match the rest of the design. To complete the layout, I splattered pink, yellow, and blue ink throughout the page.

Thank you for following along on today's sketch. I hope you find some time to be crafty.

3-to-Inspire with Nathalie

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you this week's 3-to-Inspire challenge featuring the new Cherish release.  Here are this week's 3 prompts:

  1.  Set your title on an angle
  2. Use a small color palette
  3. Ephemera is your friend!
I used the three prompts and the Cherish kit and digital files to create this spread for my 6x8 Life Crafted album:

I love how the three prompts actually helped to pull this together in a short amount of time.   Let's take a closer look:

I started my project by selecting my color palette. I wanted to make the green and coral peachy of the Cherish kit to shine. So, I added a bit of teal and yellow ( both from the Digital Patterned paper) to  complement my palette.

To bring some of the journaling patterned paper to the photo side of the picture, I chose to line the top of the paper (both digital papers) with  it, then folded to reveal the design.  The angle the fold creates was the perfect spot for my title (Sadie Teal Green Puffy Alpha stickers).    The large ephemera flower just helps to emphasize the angle of the fold, and title placement.

This month's Cherish ephemera is packed with so many elements.   I used the large floral ephemera as anchors at the two corners of the spread.   Then, decided to layer a few of the pieces at the bottom corner of the picture.  I am adding a bit of interest here with the texture of the twine that keeps the tags together.

A few enamel dots complete my spread.   I hope this inspires you to use the prompts and our CHERISH release to create a project of your own!
