SUNDAY SKETCH WITH KERSTIN

Hello everyone! Kerstin here sharing with you my inspiration on today's Sunday Sketch! I love to be creative after sketches. There I can let my ideas flow and just get going. I usually pick one, two or three things from the sketch, find what I want to use and go for it. Let's get started!

Here is the Sketch I used for my 12 x 12 layout:

Below you can see my version of the sketch. I used the August Mini Kit "Sunshine" and something from the March Kit "Back to Basics".

In any case, I wanted to make the photo on the top left. As a second "photo" I thought I'd take the amazing frame from the August Mini Kit "Sunshine" decorated with some Bits and Pieces.

I added a half circle to the photo and glued it to my white cardstock. The cute flowers and leaves from the March kit "Back to Basics" go great with the colors from the August kit "Sunshine". I arranged the flowers and leaves below my photo. In addition, hearts and chipboard stickers from the August kit "Sunshine"

I glued the frame on white paper and strengthened it a bit. Around it I wrapped pink yarn - I pinned a few sequins with it. The small frame pinned, the chipboard sticker with the butterfly and a few more amazing embellishments and my second element is ready.

As a title I really wanted to use the cool phrase "Snapshot of the day" from the August kit "Sunshine". It fits perfectly with the photo!

Here I show you a look at the complete layout. I hope I can inspire you to get creative with this fantastic sketch. I look forward to seeing your projects!

See you soon!
Kerstin xx

3-to-Inspire with Shu-Wen

Hey everyone!

It's Shu-Wen here, sharing a spread that I created in my Life Crafted Album documenting my first trip to the rodeo! This spread features some components from the Sunshine Mini Kit that was released this month, and the summery sunshiny goodness in this kit was perfect for documenting a (mostly) sunshiny day!

Here's a photo of my layout for today:
And here are the 3 prompts for this week's 3-to-Inspire!
1) Layering
2) Real-life Ephemera
3) Digital Journaling Card

I started off the left page of my spread by layering a photo that I took from the rodeo with one of the digital journaling cards from the Sunshine Digital Journal Cards set to create a bit of contrast with the rainbow starburst patterned paper that I printed out from the Sunshine Traveler's Notebook Digital Paper set. Then, I layered in some of the floral ephemera pieces from the Sunshine Die Cut Ephemera pack, making sure to pop some of them up with 3D foam tape, and added in a few puffy stickers from the Sunshine Puffy Stickers sheet for some more texture and dimension. On the top of that page, I added my title "Not My First Rodeo" using the Sunshine Puffy Alphabet stickers from the mini kit, crossing out the word "Not" with some of the thin washi tape from the Explore Mini Kit from a couple of months ago. I loved this as my title because it's a play on the commonly used phrase "Not my first rodeo", since this was actually the first rodeo I had ever gone to.

For the insert in between my two Life Crafted Album pages, I decided to use the paper sleeve that held my plastic cutlery, provided to us with the dinner for the event, to hold some extra bits of real-life ephemera: the tickets from the event, as well as the program for the day's schedule of events. At the bottom half of the paper sleeve, I included a photo of my boyfriend enjoying some refreshments, as well as a flip-up to hold some journaling that I printed out using another one of the digital journaling cards. To serve as a handle to flip the journaling card up, I adhered one of the tab stickers from the Sunshine Chipboard Stickers sheet, making sure to overhang the bottom arrow of that tab over the edge of my photo and removing the stickiness from the back of that arrow tab with my embossing powder tool. Next, I adhered one of the Life Crafted Adhesive Strips to the back of that paper sleeve, which allowed me to put the paper sleeve into my album without having to punch holes through it!

On the back part of that paper sleeve, I included yet another digital journaling card with more journaling on it, as well as a small photo at the very bottom. I decorated the page with the heart-sunglasses ephemera from the ephemera pack and a chipboard sticker at the very bottom. For the right page of my layout, I decided to keep things simple by letting my grid of 4 photos do most of the work; I only used two circle embellishments from the chipboard sticker sheet to finish off my page!

I hope you decide to give this 3-to-Inspire challenge a try! I especially loved incorporating my real-life ephemera into my layout as an interactive element in my album! If you'd like to create a layout featuring real-life pieces of ephemera, be sure to tag me over on Instagram @ChouxPuffCreations so that I can see what you've created, and make sure to share you layouts over on the Citrus Twist Kits Facebook Page as well! Life Crafted Inspiration with Lory

Hello everyone! How are you?

It's Lory here and today I am exited to share a new 6x8 Life Crafted spread to tell my Summer stories. I am on vacation but this doesn't stop me to create some pages where as soon as I'll be back home I'll add my pictures. I have them on my phone and camera so when I create I have on my mind  the photo I am referring to. My album is the 6x8 Sunshine album.

Here it is. A full 6x8 page and some journaling cards on the right. The circle indicates a picture I'll add.

For the full page I mixed leaves, flowers and ephemera from the beautiful Sunshine August Kit.

Behind the composition I used flowers stamps in black and coral inks. The effect is so soft and beautiful don't you think? With just few elements you can create great compositions to make the background for your photo and story.

Here some close ups.

You don't need to insert all you have in your stuff, you just need to find the right place for everything you want to use :) It's so funny and easy to play with the gorgeous kits fromCitrus Twist.
Of course I couldn't not to use my favorite stamps from their collection.

Hope you like it and it inspires you to keep your memories in a lovely creative way.

Love, Lory

Sunday Sketch with Suzanne

Hello friends!
I hope you are doing well and still enjoying summer. We have vacation until august 30th, so we are full on enjoying the free time.

I have made this layout using the sketch from this week, I had so much fun making this page in my album using the august kit.

I printed the flower design paper and gave the flowers some color to match with the embellishments from the kit.

And I have to say that I am in love with the color of the letters this month!
I hope that you enjoy this sketch as much as I have and I can’t wait to see what you will create

Love

Sunday Sketch with Kira

Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with a new layout using this week's Sunday Sketch!  Here's a peek at the sketch I used today:

And here is my take using the August Sunshine mini kit:

I was inspired by the sketch for my choice of story I used today.  The design reminded me of water, so I pulled out some of my summer pool pictures to create my layout.

I used some plain colored cardstock from my stash to create my background and then used my sewing machine to add some stitching to the top.

Since I was working in the TN Life Crafted size, I decided on 2 photos instead of 4.  I sized my photos to 1.75"x1.75".

And I embellished using the Sunshine mini kit, along with a few of the digital elements from this month.

Here's another look at the finished layout:

Thanks for stopping by!

3-to-Inspire with Patricia

Hello CTK Friends!  Hope you are enjoying some crafting time.  If you need a jumpstart, I have a 3-to-Inspire for you that I think will be fun!

  1. Create your own die cuts
  2. Use a long title
  3. Create a digital page

For the first 3-to-Inspire, I got inspiration from the cloud from the die cuts in the August kit.  I don't draw, but I can draw a cloud!  So keeping with the die cut cloud inspiration, I chose green, yellow, pink, and one more blue card to stamp with matching colors using the Tiny Words Explore stamp set. I just inked, and pressed each card into the inked stamp.

Next, I used a fine point pen and drew clouds, then detailed cut those out leaving a small border just like the cloud die cut from the kit.

Once that was done, I adhered on a 4x8.5 white yardstick background, pulled CTK alphas in matching colors to create my long title.

I filled in with the hearts and other stickers from the August Kit.  Now that die cut cola from the kit for this was so perfect!!

I wanted to use some of the new digital TN papers, but I wanted room for journaling and my photo without being too busy.  So I used Photoshop to layer the August digital element of the clipboard on top, added my journaling, and then added my photo and one more digital element at the bottom.  For that clipboard, I was able to line up the lines to make it look like just the clipboard is on top.  You could also print each item individual for the same effect.  All I added to this page was a die cut flower and sticker from the kit to finish!

Pick a die cut from the kit and duplicate like I did with the cloud.  Pick a fun, long title and graphics your stash of CTK alphas, and then hop on your computer to create a digital page or print each item to bring together.  Have fun!

LIFE CRAFTED INSPIRATION with NATASHA

Hi Friends, and Happy Weekend!

Today, I’m here to share with you some Life Crafted Album inspiration in the new 6x8 albums which truly are such a dream. I am the type of paper crafter who likes to incorporate different sizes together within a memory planning format- the larger Life Crafted size has totally fit the bill because I can document memories with or without page protectors. Currently, I am in the Midnight Black album, it’s stunning!

For this layout, I created a mixed media background to play off of all the fun and lively colors in the new CTK Exclusive Sunshine Mini Kit

Using the Canva free online app, I was able to format the digital Traveler's Notebook papers into circular elements which I used to build onto my mixed media background paired with the circle chipboard pieces from the Sunshine Chipboard Stickers

I then used some additional pieces from the Sunshine Puffy Stickers and the Sunshine Die Cut Ephemera pieces to layer in and work on a diagonal to emphasize the look I was going for.

On the other side of the layout, for the pocket page, I used the Page protector #12 style with two journal cards from the Digital Journal Cards and then for the 3x4 card I wanted to pull a very neutral base to balance all the bring colors and serve as a contrast to my title so I trimmed down one of the digital Traveler’s Notebook papers.

Hybrid layouts are so fun to create especially when you are mixing and matching different memory keeping formats. I hope this layout gave you some inspiration to try mixing and matching different styles of memory keeping within your 6x8 albums.
