"Happy Moment", simple grid layout with Emma

Hi CTK friends!  Emma on the blog today with the a super simple little grid layout!  I am a big fan of grids when creating layouts; they're so easy to work with and help speed up the creative process for me.  And I have to confess that this would be the most basic little grid layout ever - because it's just one single grid line all the way down your page!  How easy right?! ;)

Here's a look at my page:

I just adore all the Die-Cut Cardstock Ephemera included in the Life Crafted "Best of This Life" kit this month and I wanted to use so many of the fun pieces in my layout so lining them up in a single grid down the middle of my page meant I could include them all!

I used one of the 6x8 cardstock papers for my base (went with the neutral grid paper!) and I started by centering my photo on the page - then picked some of the bigger ephemera pieces and positioned them above/below the photo.  Once I had the placements set I added in few of the smaller pieces to fill in some of the "white space" left on my page.

I fixed all the ephemera pieces using double-sided tape but I added a bit of machine stitching to a few pieces for a bit of added texture (in coordinating cotton of course!).

This is just a fun little page about some of the paper pages I've created recently (I've been having a bit of with paints) so I used a few of the stamp sentiments as my journaling.  I used the This Is Life "Chasing Curiosities" Stamp and Life Crafted Travelers Notebook Stamp (and Life Crafted kit stamp of course!).

Then I popped a few of the Puffy Stickers with Cardstock Topping around my page (I love, love, love these exclusive puffy stickers) on top of the ephemera and finished my page off with a few of the Enamel Shape Stickers (are these not the cutest little stickers? Perfect size!).

I'm super happy how this page finished up and it was such a quick, easy one to put together - which is such a huge win with me at the moment (never seem to be enough hours in the day!).

Although I think I love it mostly because of the fun colours included in this month's kit - it will be no surprise to anyone that knows me, that this is hands-down my most favourite Life Crafted kit yet.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today - I hope you are loving the July Life Crafted kit as much as I am.  I (and all of our Creative Team) truly love seeing your works on our Facebook Fanpage so please remember to share your pages there!

Take care, Em xo

Travelers Notebook Challenge with Patricia

Hello, CTK Friends!  I have enjoyed playing with the July Life Crafted and Add-On kit so much.  Sometimes that beautiful pile left on your desk can give you a whole new perspective or angle.  So for today's post, it is all about angles.

I started by using my scissors to trim angles from leftover papers on my desk from both the Add-On and the Life Crafted kit.  I added some straight stitching to them, and pieced them onto my background.  I picked photos that would cover most of the TN page and started placing the trimmed and stitched pattern paper pieces over them.

After getting this design started and photos in place, I used the Life Crafted papers and white cardstock along with the Summer Icons cut file to piece together, stamped onto Life Crafted paper one of the images from the Travelers Notebook stamp sets for this month.  I trimmed out three of them to add more stamping and a single stitched line through the center before adhering into place.

Then I continued the stamping on the same pattern paper to make a longer piece to trim out to type my journaling.

Added my Summer Icon cuts, and a mix of Life Crafted and Add-On embellishments to finish this.

Angles really are a lot of fun to create motion, texture, and a way to use your scraps of pattern paper.  Hope you give this challenge a try and share in our Facebook group or on Instagram tagging us @citrustwistkits

Let's Get Digital with Anna

Hi dear friends! Anna here with you today and I'm so excited to share my project with you where I've used the digital elements from the July Life Crafted kit. There are lot's of them each month in the CTK shop and they are gorgeous. Some of them are Subscribers Exclusive and a few of them are open for everyone.

Here's what I came up with.

The first thing I did was to cut out this beautiful sunray digital cut file( subscriber exclusive) designed by Nathalie. I sized it up pretty much and I love how it turned out backed with all these gorgeous papers. The papers are a few of the digital papers and one of the digital PL cards, also a few of the labels are from the digital cutaparts. One of the best things with digital elements is that you can size them as you want, sometimes type your journaling on the digital pieces before printing and you can print your favorite pieces over and over again.

These two labels are from the cut aparts as well. Though the lovely colorful hexagon is from the ephemera pack of the physical Life Crafted kit . Also I went for a bit light mixed media using some color mists in matching colors.

Here's one of the labels from the digital cut apart sheet. I've used the "Summer is Here" sentiment out from the Life Crafted kits stamps. Also I mixed the digitals up with a few of the lovely chipboard stickers  and some enamels from the kit.

I like to make small clusters using a combo of both digital parts and other embellishments from the kit. Also I like to add stitches and/or staples to my projects to get texture and dimension.

I had a blast while creating this page and I hope I could bring some scrappy inspiration into your scrappy heart as well! Be sure to check up all the gorgeous CTK digitals and have some fun. Also heads up for the soon to be release of the new kits for August. I promise you that they're smashing gorgeous!!

As always just ask away if you have any questions and I'll try to help you :)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you like! Anna xo

Sunday Sketch with Amanda Baldwin

Hi CTK Friends!

Amanda here, and I am so happy to be joining you for this week's installment of the
Citrus Twist Kits Sunday Sketch feature!
Today's sketch is tons of fun, and I hope I can inspire you to play along!

So, without further ado, here's what this week's Sunday Sketch looks like...

Told you it was a fun one! Such a cool design, and really easy to take inspiration from!
Here's my twist on it...

"Weekend Happiness"

Isn't this pretty?!!
As you can see, I have altered the sketch (Or kinda trimmed the right hand side off) to create an 8" x 11" layout page. That's the wonderful thing about sketches, you can edit them to suit your creative style! Plus, after creating quite a few projects this month I really didn't have any 3"x 4" cards left over to 'perfectly' follow the sketch. Realistically, I could have cut my own 3" x 4" card from one of the Best Of This Life Pattern Papers, or used one of the July 2019 digital printable 3 x 4 Journaling Cards but I still needed to fit the sketch into a smaller page size. So, I decided to use the 2nd photo as the card, and replaced the paper clip with an embellishment or 4!
Here's a better look at my page...

Happiness, indeed! Ain't nobody loves the weekend like my sweet girl! In her own words, "Mondays be like, Meh! & when FriYAY calls I'm like, so there!" Ummm... yeah, teen lingo and whatever that means, lololol! Seriously though, such a super fun and playful page!
I've used the Best Of This Life July Life Crafted Kit, the Life Crafted July 2019 Digital Cut Aparts & the Joyful Day Phrase Stickers (Pinkfresh Studio) from the July 2019 Scrapbooking Add On Kit.
I have foam mounted the photo cluster to add a little more interest and some dimension to the design.
Speaking of clusters, how fantastic are all those embellishments in the top right of my photo?!

The puffy stickers in this month's kit are so fab! I'm loving the bright Summer colors and the sentiments are totally on point!
And let's not forget to mention my mixed title....

I have combined the bright colored WEEKEND ephemera with the Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Day phrase sticker, happiness to create my title. I love how effective this looks!
You'll spy that I foam mounted the ephemera for added 'pop' against the phrase sticker.
And there you have it!
Simple. Pretty. Lazy Sunday creating!

I wonder how you'll interpret this sketch?
Please be sure to add your projects to the Citrus Twist Kits Fan Page HERE so we can be inspired by your awesomeness too! We LOVE seeing what everyone creates with their Citrus Twist Kits!

Thanks so much for stopping by today,
til next time,

3-To-Inspire with Alena

Hello, crafty friends! Alena here today with a 3-to-Inspire challenge for you!
I am sharing some more pages in my wonderful Life Crafted Album. I used the lovely July Life Crafted "Best Of This Life" Kit.

For my spread I decided to use two pocket pages which holdes  2–3x4 cards.

I  love those  die-cuts that are included in this months Project Life kit, I used a few in this spread. The main decoration of the cards are beautiful yellow flowers. I positioned them using foam pads. Labels have also been added.

And of course I can not resist these beautiful pieces of chipboard. I added one of them to the journal card. This time I decided to write the text manually, although I usually use my printer. I like the result, although my handwriting is not perfect. Almost always I add a machine line. Recently, I like to use for this thread mint color.

For today's 3-to-Inspire, the categories are:

Use flowers die-cuts .
Stitch (machine, hand).
Use at least two photos in your project.

Remember to share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or by using #CTK, @Citrustwistkits on social media.

Life Crafted with Kira

Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with another layout in my Life Crafted album.  I am slowly working my way through my Harry Potter vacation album, and my monthly Life Crafted kit has made it so much easier to get all of my stories in!

Today's spread is a two pocket, double page layout documenting one of the restaurants we ate at in Orlando.  I also included the 3"x 8" bookmark, which is what ultimately inspired this layout.  I added some journaling on the "Good Eats" side of the bookmark about the restaurant we ate at, and checked off "dinner" and "dessert". Then on the reverse side, I covered the "Girls just want to have sun" part with a piece of grid paper and add journaling about what we ordered.

In the left pocket pages I added two journaling cards from the LC kit.  The upper card has a photo of the restaurant layered with a puffy sticker.  The lower card has the date, location, a photo of me and another puffy sticker.

In the left pocket pages I added a journaling card with a photo of my husband and myself outside the restaurant.  I layered a label and a puffy sticker on top.  The lower card is a piece of patterned paper from the LC kit, a photo of my milkshake and a die cut and chipboard sticker layered on top.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pocket Life with Kelli

Hey its Kelli here. Today I am going to share 2 pocket pages I made with the July kit. I love how colorful the kit is. It's perfect for all those summertime pictures. This first page documents a family reunion.

This layout was a lot of fun to make with 7 photos and the July Life Crafted kit. I used a mix of handwriting, typed journaling, and stamps from the kit.

The next pocket page I made has a mix of 3x4 and 4x6 cards and photos. It documents the day we released the butterflies we raised. I used chipboard alphas and embellishments to make this page pop. The card that says "It was fun while it lasted" was perfect for this.

These pages came together easily with the Citrus Twist kit. I love how versatile they are!

Thanks for joining me today! Have a great day.
