Adding texture to my Life crafted Album with Melanie

Hi CTK friends, Melanie here.

Today I am sharing some pages of my Life Crafted Album. I used the January Life crafted Kit for my pages and I had so much fun working with the new size. I decided to make this album all about me and if you're interested in the first pages you can find them on my blog.

For this page I used the stamps to create a pattern on one of the 3x4 cards. I added a label and some sewing and placed a heart on top. I love to sew on my albums, it adds a lot of texture without being too bulky. I glued the card on patterned paper as a pocket which holds a tag with my journaling.

I added a chipboard sticker layered on a label to the bottom of the card and placed another label with a heart on top of the page.

Antother great way to add texture is tearing paper, which I did on my second spread.

I used the same papers for both sides of the spread and added some sewing too.
The left side helds my picture and a diecut from the kit. I added a word phrase sticker on top for a little more layering.

I placed a journal card on the right side of the spread and added a small banner on top.

To finish the spread off I placed placed a heart diecut on top of the left hand page and one on the bottom of the right hand page.

I really love how simple it is to document with the new Kit and Album and love the clean fresh look of it. I hope I inspired you to give the small format a try if you haven't already and can't wait to see your creations! Don't forget to share them in our Facebook Group and on Instagram using the hashtag #citrustwistkits so we can see what you created.

Until next time, happy crafting, Melanie

Pocket Life with Candace

Hello CTK friends! Candace here to share a pocket life spread I created using the new Life Crafted January kit.  I love that you can use this kit in the small album, in your 12x12 pocket pages, traveler's notebooks or on traditional scrapbooking pages.  My goal every month is to create 1 of each of these types of projects using the kit.  I like to challenge myself and get creative with these fun kits and it allows me to tell all types of stories and memories.
Here is a look at the whole double 12x12 spread that came together.

I started by laying out all my photos to see where I would need to add in papers and cards.  By doing this first I was able to create a balance of colors and photos across the spread.

I wanted to add more interest to the spread by adding a few little 2x2 black and white photos to the center.  This is a really great contrast to the bright, colorful papers.

I love the addition of dimensional elements around the spread.  I always try to add little pieces that add sentiments and interest across the spread. These always add a special little touch!

The washi tape was the perfect color and sentiment to add to this 4x6 card.  I love it when that happens!

For my title card I used a die cut from the ephemera pack with a small "begin" stamped on the center of the die cut.  (How cute!). I then added the date to a label and popped it up on dimensional adhesive.

I hope that you are loving working with the Life Crafted kit as much as I am! I also hope that you give my little challenge a try and see how many different types of projects you can create with the kit.  The possibilities are endless!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Have a beautiful day!

"My Treasure" a 12x12 layout with Anna

Hi CTK friends!

I'm so exited to be back today sharing another page made with the lovely January LC "Fresh Starts" kit with you. This time I opted for a regular 12x12 layout with lots of yummy layers and some light mixed media as well. Be sure to let me now if you have any questions about my process. Though I think the page speaks well by itself. Ok here we go, this is how it all ended up! Hope you will like what you see :)

Lots of delicious inks here to spy! I used some different color mists and a plastic bag to apply them on my backround. Also you can find one of my favourites from the kit here, those chipboard stickers and especially the golden ones are to die for.

Oh My! I'm totally in love with this heart PL-card. I knew that I wanted to use this on my page and therefore I let the color scheme for my layout reflect the colors from the PL-card.

Ok, neither this time I could resist to use my old trusty sewing machine, lol! I love the texture you get and the extra touch it gives to my black puffy stickers. Even here I have used a few of those beautiful chipboard stickers.

I finished the page off adding a few of the Tiny Word Stickers on the top of my page, it became a part of my journaling this time.

I really enjoyed creating this happy page about our beautiful kids, so much fun! The new Life Crafted kit made it so easy, it almost scrapped itself.

Now it's your turn and I can't wait to see what magic you'll create with this month's kit. Be sure to share it over on the CTK Fan Page on Facebook and hashtag us on Instagram using @citrustwistkits or #citrustwistkits so we can give you some love.

Haven't ordered your kits yet? Visit the store to get started!

Thanks for stopping by! Anna xo

TN Challenge with Sarah

Hi, Everyone!

Today I'm sharing a new TN challenge with you that again utilizes stamps (you all know how much I love my stamps!) Our challenge for today is to make a border using phrase stamps.

If you're someone that sometimes finds it challenging to add journaling onto your page, then adding phrase stamps can be a great way to include some words and sentiments next to your photo.  Or, even if you do enjoy journaling, adding phrase stamps can add a fun pattern background, or in this case, a border, to your page.

For this spread I used a bunch of the phrase stamps from the Fresh Start Life Crafted kit stamp set as well as the "New Beginnings" stamp set.  I started with the largest phrase, stamping it randomly along the edge of my page and then followed with other phrases, mixing up my colors every now and again to match the colors on the left side of my page.

For the left side of my page I layered by photo on top of a 3x4, 4x6, and 6x8 journaling cards/paper to add some dimension, added in some die cuts and journaling, and called my layout done!

Sometimes it's great to just keep things simple.  It's amazing what a few little details can add to your page!

Hope you'll give this challenge a try!

Happy Crafting,
Sarah

Sunday Sketch with Adele

Hi scrappy peeps!

Time to get sketchy! Today I am using one of the January sketches on a 9x12" layout using the Jan Life Crafted kit.

I also decided to step out of my comfort zone and use a colour which I don't usually reach for...lime green. I followed the sketch very closely, just squished the layout a little to fit on a 9x12" format.

I begun by placing several papers down behind my photo. I tried to keep my colour palette to greens, blue with a touch of neutral creams.

I also added some stamping to the tag, along with the background to help tie in some of the black elements on the twine and doodly borders.

I finished my layout off by creating a title using a piece from the ephemera pack and some gold Heidi Shine.

I have also created a process video showing how the whole page came together - I hope you enjoy it!

3-to-Inspire with Andrea Gray

Hey friends! Today I am sharing a 3-to-Inspire and we're using puffy hearts, stamps and pocket cards!
Let's put these things together and see what we can come up with!

I decided to make a pocket page all about my word stack for 2019. Instead of one word, I chose 4!

Starting off with picking the cards to use is always the most fun. I had to use the 2019 cards, obviously. I used the go forth & be fierce cards for journaling and stamped the simple wildflower on top of the little transparent strip to add some layers.

I love the simplicity of the puffy hearts so if there's a place for them, I'll make it happen! I didn't want to mix around too many colors so I added a mint heart to coordinate with the mint &.

I was so pleased that the LOVE THIS card had 4 journaling spots - perfect for each of my 4 words! And to lighten up the dark-ish star card, I stapled a heart to a label!

A simple corner cluster is always a winner and I love how this chipboard/heart/stamp combo turned out! It's an easy way to make an interesting statement.

I hope you've enjoyed today's 3-to-Inspire and have found something you can take away to use in your own projects! Thanks for joining me today!

Life Crafted with Alena

Hi dear CTK friends! Alena here today.

I haven't finished my 2018 Project yet, but I can't wait to try to save our memory in a new format. This album is for me the most convenient of all that I have tried to use.
I have a double page spread to share with you today using the January Life Crafted kit .

I love that patterned paper with the colored lines. I divided it into two parts and used them on both pages. Thus, the whole spread looks harmonious. For the base I took a white cardstock.

I also used a lot of Ephemera.

And of course I can not resist these beautiful pieces of chipboard.  Also I added some stitching for more texture .

So there are three bright spreads in my new album.

Thanks for stopping by!
