PL challenge with Alena

Alena here with  Pocket Life Challenge for you! Today I have a little idea to change  your Project Life.

There's always a lot of chipboard on my pages. And also I like to use unusual embellishments in my Project Life. For example, try using the  negative of chipboard.
Try adding different little embellishments or pieces of patterned paper to empty cells. It's pretty simple, but it always looks good. This can also be seen here and here.

I also liked to add text over the photo. I just printed it on a vellum.

So, my challenge for you:
  1.  Use the negative from the chipboard .
  2. Place the text on the photo.

I hope you have a crafty  weekend!

Mixed Media with the Perfectly Posh Kits!

Hey Friends!

Amanda here, sharing some mixed media fun with our gorgeous Perfectly Posh Kits!
I know, these kits are too pretty to get messy with, right?
Well, when teamed up with the Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolors you just can't go wrong!
Today I am sharing a really delicate, purposeful and soft approach to mixed media!
Here's what I'm talking 'bout......

"Some Kind Of Wonderful"

Isn't this lovely?!!
So super pretty & that Butterfly Ring cut file (created by our awesome Nathalie DeSousa) is just divine!!! I've combined a few of our pretty kits for this layout; Perfectly Posh PL & Scrapbook Kits & the Embellishment Kit. I was especially inspired by the butterflies in the cut file & those Crate Paper Willow Lane embellishments, as well as the pastel pretty colors in the exclusive PL Kit ephemera. Loving this soft & feminine color scheme!
It's no secret that I LOVE Pinkfresh Studio, & their Liquid Watercolors are all kinds of magic!
I've used Lavender, Bubblegum Pink, Aquamarine & Sapphire, with lots of splatters,  as well as the wet-on-wet technique to create that pretty base. I've also softened the color intensity with lots of water, and by soaking up the excess color with paper towel. You can shop ALL the colors in the Citrus Twist Kits store here.
You can see exactly 'how' I made this layout on my You Tube Channel HERE.

Here's a few close ups for you.....

Gosh! It really is dreamy and divine! From that pretty ephemera, to that cutesy lil blue bird, this layout is beautifully adorned! And I am totally loving those glossy enamel dots from Pinkfresh Studio!

Here's a better look at my photo cluster....

You'll spy all the Crate Paper Willow Lane loveliness here! Lots of pretty layers, & how cute is that tiny tassel?

So.much.pretty!!! Mixed media makes everything magic!
I hope I have inspired you to get creating & that you enjoy watching my process video!
Thanks so much for visiting,

Documenting - Travelers Notebook Style!

Hello, there!  Let's discuss one of my favorite projects - travelers notebooks!  I use them in a variety of ways but the most common are to document my memories [like a mini album], to actually plan in them or a combination of both.  I mean, why not combine function and inspiration, am I right?

This month, I used the Citrus Twist Kits to document memories and I am blown away by the amount of fun I had!

What's more fun that using a Scrapbook Kit in a travelers notebook?  Not much!  I loved being able to add beautiful bits and lots of dimension on this page.  And that patterned paper from the kit was perfect for a page all about travel!

Now, I thought it would be SO fun to keep it simple! I really wanted to focus on just this one stamp from the August 2018 Travelers Notebook stamp set.  It was so beautiful and I knew it was a perfect match for this photo of my beloved family dog.  Keeping the layout simple and repeating the same stamp really had a big impact!

I, of course, couldn't stop there!  It's just too much fun using these inserts to document.

I was so fortunate to go to Chile this summer and teach some planner classes. It was, for sure, a life changing experience.  I had to start my memory keeping of this trip somewhere!  So, I combined both the August 2018 Perfectly Posh Scrapbook Kit with the Perfectly Posh Pocket Life kit! They were positively perfect together, and I loved using the stamp from the scrapbook kit on here, as well!  [It was made for this layout!]

Are you documenting in travelers notebook inserts?  I love mixing them in my functional travelers notebooks to give me something inspiring to look at while I take care of the day to day!  It also gives me a fun keepsake to hold onto.  What a great way to preserve all of the memories!

Using circles and bows

Hello crafty friends, Melanie back here with another Tuesday Tutorial. I don't know about you but I love circles, you can never go wrong with them, right?
Once again inspired by the cute pompom frames from the Embellishment Kit, I decided to make a layout using lots of circular elements. First I picked some papers and supplies I might use. I love the mint green ribbon and the cute buttons from the Perfectly Posh Scrapbook Kit, these are so cute. And how beautiful are all these pretty patterns and colors of the papers!

I started by punching some circles from each of the papers.

Next up I added some black splatters to my white background, adhered my photo to the frame and arranged the circles on my page without glueing anything.

I decided to put a bow on some of the circles using the mint green ribbon. I glued a strip of ribbon to each of the circles with a roller adhesive, sticked another strip together and used some white thread to make a bow.

I adhered the bows to the circles by using the same white thread. I also punched some circles from the flower paper from the Pocket Life Kit and placed them underneath the bows.

To bring in some contrast, I added some black circles to the layout and to finish it off I used some stickers and the buttons for embellishing and  I also fussy cut a flower from one of the papers.

At the end I adhered the black washi from the Embellishment Kit  as a border to my layout to add a little more interest to the page.

Maybe you're inspired to make a layout using lots of circular elements! Don't forget to share your creations in our Facebook Group or on Instagram and tag us so we can see your work!
Thanks for stopping by, see you soon,

Melanie

"Love You" with Adele Toomey

Hello lovelies!

I was excited to dive into this month's beautiful Scrapbook Kit and love all the gorgeous Crate Paper inclusions. I have also recorded a process video of this 9x12" layout which you can find at the end of this blog post.

I branched out of my comfort zone and use a patterned paper background, but couldn't resist adding some painty goodness onto the background as well!

I love the 3D Crate Paper embellies in this month's kit and did have to restrain myself a little from adding ALL THE GLITTER HEARTS!

I hope you enjoy a peek into the process of this layout!

Sunday Sketch with Neftali

Happy Sunday ladies, it is Neftali here today and welcome back for another Sunday Sketch! Today I am so excited to be working with the lovely mixture on Maggie Holmes products from the August “Perfectly Posh” kits to recreate this lovely sketch:

I was so excited to take on this sketch because I can see all of those layers and I knew that the Willow Lane Papers always layer so beautifully! So before I can get into the details, here is my take on this layout:

I am pretty much a gal who takes a sketch a runs with it. I don’t always go too far from the design, and this layout is a perfect example of that! I kept to the design as close as possible, including the splatters, which were my favorite.

To get that center banner I used the silky mint trim from the Main Kit, and the pink Pom Pom trim from the Pocket life kit. I was so delighted to have these two put together.

I decided to divide my central area into four sections just as the Sketch suggests. Each one had a few fun layers of patterned papers, and a few embellishments from the Main Kit’s thicker embelishments, the ephemera pack, and the Chipboard pieces from the Add-On Kit.

I only used one photo, even though I had four clusters. I used a photo of my little guy which I framed using a cute black frame from the Willow Lane ephemera pack.

My favorite thing about this layout has to be all of those layers, layers, layers!

So, have I inspired you to give this sketch a go? It’s a fun simple design, and you can get your layering skills to work.

I really hope you try it out and share with all of us on the CTK Facebook group! Thanks for stopping by today. X

3-To-Inspire with Jessica Upton

HI everyone, It’s Jessica and I am back with my second post as the August Guest Designer. I have loved being a guest and am so thankful to have had the opportunity. Today I am sharing a 3-To-Inspire spread I made for my Travelers Notebook.

The 3 items that I am going to challenge you to use are:

  1. The pom pom frames
  2. The puffy letter stickers and
  3. The enamel dots.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I loved the pom pom frames so much so I was so excited to include them in my travelers notebook. The blue ones were the perfect accent to my floral photo. I love that you can use the frames on either side, the patterned side, or the plain side. I opted for the plain side as I just felt it went better with my photo.

I also used the puffy alphabets in my spread, but the gorgeous yellow color did not go with my spread, so I colored them navy with a permanent marker. Did you know that you can do that? It works so well. Make your kit work for you!

And lastly, I used the enamel dots on the right hand side of my page in a triangle to accent the photos. I love enamel dots and use them on just about every project I do, so these were perfect! I love how just those little pops bring in all of the colors of the spread.

Ok, now it is your turn! Use the 3 items (pom poms, puffy letter stickers and enamel dots) and create a layout, Travelers Notebook spread. Project Life spread or something else.

Be sure to tag Citrus Twist Kits if you share your project on Social Media. Tag me (@jessica_upton) as I would love to see what you create also!
