Sunday Sketch with Melanie

Hello CTK friends, Melanie here with another Sunday Sketch for you.

Isn't it a great one? And it's perfect to use with the New 'Life Crafted' January Kit! I pretty much stuck to the sketch but switched one photo for a journal card.

After the holidays my crafty bestie and I finally met to spend the whole day scrapping and chatting together. The table became a huge mess pretty quickly and we loved it. Of course we took a picture of the table and I used the Fresh Start Kit to document the day.

The pretty striped paper went perfectly with the colors on my photo and I cut two strips of it. I backed my photo with some matching patterned papers from the kit and did the same with my journaling card. To make them stand out I used some fun foam. After that I placed one strip of the striped paper above my cluster and one on the bottom.

I used some labels to create more layers and used the stamp set that came in the kit to stamp some phrases on the labels and the New Beginnings Stamp to make the black labels..

I added some stitching for more texture and finished the layout off by adding some black ink splatters.

I hope you'll play along with this sketch challenge. I can't wait to see what you're all going to create. The new kit is so much fun to work with. The colors and patterns are gorgeous and the Embellishments are so versatile, love that!

3 - To - Inspire with Amanda!

Hi CTK Friends! 

Welcome back for more memory keeping inspiration with a new edition of our
3 - to - Inspire challenge! 
Amanda here, and I am so super excited to be sharing more of our amazing Life Crafted Kit! This new look kit has me swooning!
I love this new look & fun approach to everyday documenting, but I also still love my 12 x 12 style of scrapbooking! So for today's challenge, I am also incorporating how I use Life Crafted for 12 x 12 layouts too! Yay!

Here are the items you'll need to feature in your creating to play along:

1. Stamping - There are four fabulous CTK stamps this month, and one's an exclusive included in the Life Crafted kit. Have fun & get inky!

2. Stickers - There are some fabulous stickers in both the Life Crafted Kit and the Scrapbooking Add On Kit! I'm especially loving the Tiny Word Stickers in the Life Crafted Kit.

3. Ephemera -  Again, you'll find them in both kits, or you could make your own from our monthly printable cut aparts! Yayyy!

Here's what I've created using both our Life Crafted & Scrapbooking Add On Kits, 

"Hey Boy, You ROCK"

How awesome is this?!! Such a fun page for my cool kid!

I use the white cardstock and Shine Bright paper from the Scrapbooking Add On kit for the 12" elements in my layout. I layer my photo onto the exclusive Life Crafted pattern papers, and ephemera and then go wild with embellishing! 

The "THIS" stamp is from the exclusive Fresh Starts stamp set in the Life Crafted Kit. I repeat stamp it for maximum impact - so striking & tons of fun too! 

For the stickers element, I feature a mix of stickers from both kits but I am really crushing on the Tiny Word Stickers in the Life Crafted Kit - so good!

How cool are those faux enamel dots?! They're actually the inner circles from the O's in the Black Puffy Alphas Stickers in the Life Crafted Kit. Perfect! 

Speaking of alphas, here's a closer look at that super, mixed font title.....

So.much. awewsomeness!!!

You can see that the Scrapbooking Add On Kit has been carefully curated to compliment the Life Crafted Kit so we can enjoy the best of both memory keeping options! Yay! Love it! 

And because I really do LOVE it, I couldn't help myself... 

I've made a second layout for today's challenge, 

"Fresh Start"

Whoa! Another super boy page for my Mister A for Awesome! 

Again, I have combined both the Life Crafted & Scrapbooking Add-On Kits to create my scrapbook layout. I have also featured the Life Crafted Travelers Notebook Stamp; a new fave of mine! 

Those layers!!! 

The L shaped design of this layout is really eye catching, and I adore the split title! To add even more interest to it, I machine stitched it into place! Oh, and that title? It's from the exclusive CTK ephemera in the Life Crafted Kit! 

The Dear Lizzy Puffy Stickers in the Scrapbooking Add On Kit were the perfect adornment for this journal cluster! & yes, I'm still crushing on those Tiny Word Stickers - could you tell? lol! 

Such an awesome page for my sweet boy!

Citrus Twist Creative Team Call 2019

We are so excited about your interest in joining the 2019 Citrus Twist Creative Team.

As a member of the 2019 (March-August) Creative Team, you will be expected to create 3-4 projects per month, photograph them and write blog posts to go with your projects. You will also be required to participate at least once during your Creative Team period (March 2019-August 2019) in our Subscriber monthly workshop (video format using the Life Crafted kit). Some of your projects will be posted on the Citrus Twist Blog and occasionally other Citrus Twist social media channels.

In order to be considered for the 2019 Design Team, you should possess the following: 

• A love for paper crafting and stamping
• Innovative, inspiring projects
• Good photography skills
• Familiarity with video creation
• Experience creating Insta stories

Are you ready to apply? Email hello@citrustwistkits.com with the following information:

1. One paragraph introducing yourself. Tell us when you started scrapbooking and how you would define your personal style. What excites you most about Citrus Twist Life Crafted? Are you on any other design teams? Please include your name and where you are from. Let us know who you are as a crafter and your experience in the industry.
2. A link to your gallery, blog or portfolio. Be sure to include samples of your various creative projects. We'd love to see a variety of what you have to offer!
3. A list of all your social handles. (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Youtube, blog, etc.)
4. 5 Styled Images. Please include 1 Scrapbook Layout, 1 traveler’s notebook spread, 1 PL page or spread, 1 example of an Instagram Story Tutorial, and 1 project of your choice (something that defines who you are as a creative). 

The deadline to send applications is Friday, January 25, 2019. The new team will be notified via email on February 2, 2019. International applications will be considered.

Life Crafted Guest Designer - Claudia Azucar-White

We are so happy to share our next Guest Designer, Claudia Azucar-White.  We love Claudia's style and could not wait to see what magic she created with our new Life Crafted kit!

I am in love with the design of the Life Crafted album. Documenting my memories in the  pocket pages are just as easy as when I used to create in my large 12X12 albums. Times  have changed and with the new found love for journals and TNs, this new style album is keeping up with the trends.

I have chosen The Life Crafted album to document my daily life memories, from the biggest to the smallest events.

Here is my first layout for 2019. My family and I went on our first hike of the year. I know they will be lots more hikes, and lots more happy little moments that will make their way in my new album.

"Rock You" with Kira

How inspiring has the design team been this month?!  Have you been loving all of their amazing projects using the new Life Crafted kits and album?  I have a double page spread to share with you today using the January Life Crafted kit and the Spencer outline alpha.

I haven't decided on a definitive "plan" for my LC albums yet.  So far, I have just been making layouts as I am inspired to do so and love the ease of this smaller size.  Today, I wanted to create a layout about my toddler's growing love for the band Queen.

My oldest son has always liked pop music like Taylor Swift or even subjects me to the occasional "toddler tunes" (you know, Wheels on the Bus, and all that).  And my younger son has never been as enthusiastic about his choices so we always assumed he just wasn't that into music in general.  Then recently my husband was listening to Queen when my youngest just went crazy for it!  Dancing and jumping, you can't get him to sit still when a Queen song comes on.  Now that we've listened to them so much, he is even learning some of the lyrics.

I knew I had to document this!  I used the Spencer alpha to stamp out the lyrics "We will, we will rock you!" on white cardstock and then fussy cut all of the letters out.  I used foam to bump them all up to give some dimension to my page.

On the reverse side, I chose a photo of my son and I listening to some music and printed it about 2.5x3.5 (my preferred photo size).  Then I used my Cricut to cut out some stars from black and yellow paper included in the LC kit.  I layered the stars and then used my sewing machine to add some messy machine stitching over the tops of them.

I decided to add a secondary title to my page "Ready Freddie" using the puffy black alphas included in the kit.  Along with a label for my date, and a tiny word sticker on top of my photo.

I felt like the reverse page should have some color to tie in with the rest of the layout, and luckily I had a few extra stars, so I replaced the "o" in "rock" with a stitched star and added a tiny word sticker on top.  I finished off my page with some journaling strips and some black splatters.

The best moments 2018

Hey Citrus Twist fans!  It's Alena and I am back with 8.5x11 layout using  the Life Crafted kit.

I decided to combine all the best photos of 2018.

First, I created a collage of these photos, then printed them on photo paper. Some of the squares I have left blank so I can add embellishments. Basically-it's pieces of Ephemera(I love them) and Chipboard Stickers.

 I created the title using the Puffy Alphabet.

I think I will need such a layout every year.

Fresh New Start, Fresh New Kit

Have you seen the new Life Crafted Kit!? I love that with the new year comes a fresh new kit from CT! They have streamlined this kit to include just a little bit of everything! From stickers and paper, PL cards and stamps. I love it! This kit goes perfectly with the new Life Crafted Album. 

 As a Bible Journaler I was excited about the task of finding a meaningful way to incorporate this album into my routine.

I decided to use the album as a place to continue my thoughts & notes from my Bible. The added space of the album is perfect for journaling. Here is a look at my first entry (before I journaled in it) in the new album!

 I love the pieces in this Life Crafted Kit. The amount of wordfetti has my heart a pitter patter! I love adding layers and these sticker sheets are awesome! 

Everything I used was from the kit except the watercolor flowers. Those I painted :)

I love a good organizational system and coordinating the album is PERFECT!

2019 is the start of a fresh year, fresh start, FRESH NEW KIT!
