6x6 Paper Play with April

Happy Reveal Day, CTKers! :)

Today, I'm sharing some hang tags I made using the 6x6 paper pad in the March Pocket Life kit.  Making these tags really helped to use up the little scraps I had leftover after I finished my PL spreads.

And some close-ups!

One technique that I like to use is to fussy cut elements and then adhere parts of that same design using a foam dot. I like the dimension it adds:

I love this little girl from Dear Lizzy's DayDreamer collection:

These arrow wood veneers are from the Main Embellishment kit. Also to note, the background of this tag was made using the paper pad's tear strips:

I hope you enjoy the March kits as much as I do!  I know, I say it all the time.. but this was my favorite! :)

March 2014 Kit Reveal at Citrus Twist Kits!

Good morning everyone. Thank you for visiting our March reveal page. We'd love to begin by sharing a few new things that are happening here at Citrus Twist Kits:

  • Beginning today the Citrus Twist Kits facebook page is now a Citrus Twist Kits fan page. We invite you to share what you are doing with your CT kits. If you'd like to add our page to your facebook feed, you'll find lots of inspiration from you, our subscribers, and our Design Team.
  • To celebrate the new look of our Facebook page and to clear our shelves (with new CHA items arriving almost daily, it's time to clear out our older Main kits that we keep to replace damaged or missing kits) we thought we would do something special. We are doing a FREE Main kit giveaway. Here is who may be interested in this giveaway: those who have taken a break for a while and it's time to come back; brand new scrapbookers ready to subscribe; current subscribers who refer a friend. The details:
    • Subscribe to a Main or Pocket Life kit.
    • Choose a free Main kit from September, October, November or December and leave your top 3 choices in order of preference in the comments section at checkout.
    • Did one of our subscribers refer you? Please leave their name in the comments section at checkout--along with your free kit selection--so they get a free kit, too.
    • Your free kit will ship with your first kit.
    • Current subscribers who refer more than one Main or PL kit subscriber can earn multiple free kits.
    • This free kit offer is while supplies last during the month of March.
    • Here's the link for our March kits: www.citrustwistkits.com/kits
  • In April we are offering a self-paced class on Pocket Life focusing on taking the stress out of and putting the fun into your PL pages. We want you to be guilt free and smiling when you are working on your PL. This class will be brought to you with contributions from multiple designers on our team.
  • The CTK Store is stocked with new CHA items and we are still adding more items.
  • Did you know your 13th consecutive month kit with us is free? You just pay shipping!
Are you ready for reveal? Here we go! We'll begin with this month's Main kit "Fireflies."

"Just Cruisin'" is March's Pocket Life kit. We are loving the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer paper pad, the DIY Shop cork arrow stickers and those wonderful kraft alphabet stickers from Elle's Studio.

We've gone almost tropical this month with our "This is My Happy" Kit Add-on.

March's stamp subscription or add-on is "This Moment." You can fill in the message "overflowing with . . . " by substituting out the different choices.

You'll have lots of "Happy Little Moments" with our action-packed embellishment kit. This kit almost sold out during our subscriber presale.

"Nothing But Happy" is a delightful blend of fun colors, alphabet stickers and embellishments. This Embellishment kit is now sold out.

We couldn't resist this blend of happy colors in our "Be Mine" Pattern paper kit. "Be Mine" is sold out as well.

Every month we bring your our Solid Paper kit. The Solid Paper kit serves to double your cardstock from your Main kit and blends with our Pocket Life kits, too. If you have leftover 6 x 6 paper from your Pocket Life kit, picking up a Pattern Paper and Solid Paper kit leaves you with lots of scrapbook page possibilities!

For those of you who like viewing our kits reveal via YouTube, Design Girl Melissa Stinson has made a movie for you. Here is the link. Enjoy!

We look forward to a month of beautiful project shares from our subscribers. Be sure to upload your work to the Citrus Twist Kits Facebook page, as well as our Gallery. Watch for our Sunday Sketch challenges to be posted weekly on the fan page, too.

Happy scrapbooking and PL'ing,
Trina

Tuesday tutorial with Amélie - Guessing game #4!

Hi there!! Here is Amélie and today I am going to share with you how to make this layout:

TUTOPAGE1b

TUTOPAGE3

This month, kits are very colorful!! It smells like spring!
So I decided to play with colors to create this page. I used white cardstock as background.
Then, I chose to work with Studio Calico LemonLush - Right Brained paper.
I cut some stripes of papers to create my own frame.

I added some colors to my background with my gelatos and colorpens. To do this, I put some colors on a plastic package from kit, added some water and mixed with my finger.

More you added water, more colors will be soft. Stamped several times on your background.
Here is the result on my paper:

Here are the stripes I decided to use on my layout to create my frame.

I added some corners.

After that, just put your pictures and embellishments.
This month, the alpha in Main kit is very interesting! Because you can work on it with colors sprays or others.
As I am concerned, I chose a purple neon stain and a pink gelatos from my stash.

After having inked alpha, you just need to clean it with absorbent paper. I hope this layout and this process will inspire you!

Here is another layout made with March Main and Embellie kits. I am totally in love with this one and all the litlle hearts. I love using hearts and pink to document my boys's pictures!

March Guest Designer

My name is Mette and I am 46 years young.
I live in a town called Vasteras in Sweden together with my husband and our son Adam, age 19, and our dog.
We also have two daughters, but they have moved away from home. Mye is the oldest one and she is 25 years and then it is Emma and she is 23 years.
I work on the ICU on the hospital here in Vasteras. I love my work.
On my freetime I love to read, look at movies and spend time with friends and family.
And of course I love to scrap. I started scrapping for about 6 years ago and loved it from moment one.
This hobby is just the best way to get your thoughts out and also for keeping your memories.
I am so honored to be the GDT here at Citrus Twist now in March, and I really hope that I will be able to inspire you.
You can visit me at my blog: http://mettka.blogspot.com

1. How long have you been scrapbooking and why did you start? I´ve been scrapping for little over 6 years now. It all started with me and a friend got curious about scrapbooking and went for a night-class learning more about it. And from that first minute I was in love! This hobbby is just great!

2. How would you describe your scrapbooking style? My style have changed during the years I´ve been scrapping, but now I think that I finally got my style figured out! I would describe it colorful. I love to work with stamps, mists, distresses etc on my backgrounds. I often start with a white cardstock and fill it with the colors I think fits my layout and the photo. The mood I want with my layout!

3. What scrapbookers have influenced you most? Oh... There is so many great scrappers out there! But here are a few... Lene Neby, Jasmine Shea, Luckie, Laetitia... But as I said there are so many so the list could be really long!

4. What is your favorite thing about kit clubs? The kits are filled with papers and decorations that go together in a great way. I don´t have to go shopping and find all the “goes-together” myself. And opening a kit makes me feel like a little kid! I´m so excited and curious.

5. If you departed on a week-long trip to Italy, what are your 5 favorite scrapbooking items you would bring with you (besides your camera and photos!)? My EdgeScraper (can´t be without that one!) . Then paint ofcourse... After that I would have to bring papers, alphas and buttons.

6. How would you describe the Citrus Twist March's kit and what do you enjoy most about the kit? The colors! This kit is really an explosion of wonderful happy colors. And to go with the great papers there are lots of great decos! With the colorful papers and decos there are also those amazing wood-decos. Love!< It is so easy to create with this wonderful kit!

Be sure to leave a comment to be entered to win ONE of her favorite things!

Simple Strategies with Gina - Guessing Game #3

Hello all, today I'm sharing a simple layout with you, using just the "Fireflies" main kit. I've chosen a right aligned design with vertical 12" strips of pattern paper, embellishing between the strips and leaving plenty of white space on the page as well..

IMG_1087_2

These are the items I've used (I did swap the olive star die-cut for a pale blue one).  The gorgeous handmade vintage scallop has been trimmed slightly at each end and at the base. The typed ledger stickers were also trimmed then placed on a butterfly and journal die-cuts (note there is an extra one tucked under the photo in the finished layout)

IMG_1074_2

After sticking down the 2 vertical strips (approximately 2.5" and 3" wide), I've added a couple more papers behind the photo, and the trimmed scallop piece

IMG_1076_2

I folded the butterfly wings back gently then placed a foam circle sticker (available in the store) under each one..

IMG_1091

To finish, I added a couple of flower die-cuts, machine stitching around the photo and through the star, then wound some messy thread around the button and finally a faint grey paint splatter..and of course my usual barcode!

Thanks for stopping by.. and remember to leave a comment on this post with your guesses as to what's in the kit, for your chance to win a gift card!

Sunday Sketch + Guessing Game #2

Happy Sunday, everyone! Melissa here with this week's Sunday Sketch and layout to share, along with a peek at the contents of the upcoming March kits.

Let's start off with Kasia's sketch...

1920603_10201189684255650_1936030535_n

...and my layout based on it.

spring - ctk.jpg

I made just a few modifications to make the sketch work with my subject, including leaving out the smaller photograph and using mist and glitter splatters in place of the pencil scribbles.

DSC_6053.jpg

I loved the strips across the tops and bottom of the page (and often use these in my regular layouts, too!), and added some small embellishment clusters to them to complete the diagonal line across the page started by the mist + glitter.

Be sure to leave a comment on this post with your guesses at to the products that will be in the new releases at reveal, and you'll be entered to win a gift certificate to the Citrus Twist shop!

march kits - guessing game #1!

ctk march
Good morning! Jen here, sharing my very first layout with the March scrapbook kit. Can you guess what products are in the kit this month? Be sure and leave your comments on this post and you could win a gift card to the shop!

I decided to go bold with this layout and use a lot of fun embellishments. I took some photos from a recent date night as well as our movie ticket stub and used those on the layout.

DSC_0039
I also added some stitching underneath the butterflies.

The Thickers in the main kit are so fun! These were misted with some navy mist from my stash to match the label.

Hope you have a great weekend. You will NOT want to miss out on the fabulous kits this month!
