Tuesday Tutorial with Nina
Hi, it´s Nina here today sharing a fun, yet simple tutorial using the Citrus Twist February Kits. The focus of this page are these cute little October Afternoon chipboard frames in combination with brush writing.
Choose four different frames from the sheet and group them under your picture to measure up the space for your painting.
To write your title use watercolors, Mister Hueys or other black paint you have in your stash.
Add Thickers under your dried painting to complete your title work.
To create the bottom of your page add the number strip (Elles Studio Patterned Paper) as well as a double loop using the packaging twine.
Stamp journaling phrases with an acrylic block, black ink and Citrus Twist execlusively Kit stamps directly on the page and on a white strip of paper. Add the strip flag at the top of the photo using a tiny attacher. At least add some wooden hearts and October Afternoon "Pop Drops" on the layout.

simple strategies with jen - guessing game #2!
Hey there! It's a new month at Citrus Twist Kits and today I am sharing a project with the February Pocket Life kit, and what a great one it is.
Today my simple strategy that I'm sharing is to work with what you have. This kraft dotted card was included in the kit and I used some enamel dots to jazz it up a bit. Gives some great texture without a whole lot of effort.
Another trick I have is to stamp directly on your photos. This works great so don't be afraid! The 'a picture tells a thousand stories' stamp was stamped with black ink directly onto the photo of my kids.
Have you seen this stamp set from October Afternoon? I used it on the above layout - I really love the #makesomething and Bake This stamps! You can grab it now in the CTK Store.
Be sure to add your comment to guess what products are in this month's kits. You may win a giftcard to the store!

Sunday Sketch with Trina
I was so excited to use this month's "Just Right" Add-on kit for Kasia's playful Sunday sketch. It was too much fun diving into new Fancy Pants, Basic Grey and October Afternoon pattern papers and turn on my Silhouette to play with the POW! silver glitter paper that comes in this kit.
To play along with our sketch challenge, upload your layouts to the gallery by Feb. 7th to get your name in a drawing to win a $5 gift certificate to the Citrus Twist Kits store. When uploading to the gallery you can name it as you would normally but please include "Sketch 02/02" so we know which drawing to put your name into.
Here's Kasia's sketch:
Here's my take on the sketch. This layout was lots of fun.
Don't you just love how POW! glitter paper cuts on a Silhouette! The font I used is one off of my computer:
As always, I love a little fussy-cutting here and there on my layouts:
I like how the heart circle pops up after stitching down one side. The stamping is from one of the new Daily Flash Catchphrase stamps:
There is a reason I have such a big collection of thread in my scrapbooking studio! The splatters are from Heidi Swapp's Blush Color Shine.
Thank you for stopping by for this week's Sunday Sketch and challenge. Don't forget to upload your take on Kasia's sketch to our gallery by XX

February Blog Hop
Welcome to Citrus Twist Kits Organizing Blog Hop!! We have some fun inspiration, great organizational ideas & awesome prizes! Each of our designers will share a fun organizing tip with you to help you get your crafty space organized and more functional.
Now for the Prizes: Two lucky commenters who hop to ALL design team blogs will be entered to win a $10 GC to the Citrus Twist Store, plus we are also giving away one single main kit to a lucky third winner.
You just need to leave a comment on EVERY designer's blog to be entered to win. Come back to the main Blog Hop blog post and comment that you hopped to each blog and we will pick a winner from those that commented. Comments end Tuesday February 4th. Winners will be announced on the main Citrus Twist Kits blog by Friday February 7th.
Let's get started:
Here is a picture of my (Trina's) scrapbooking cabinets. I love these and have had them for many years! I use clear plastic containers for my monthly kits or large projects (available at Michaels). They are great for keeping organized.
Here is a close-up of my (somewhat) messy cupboard interior. (Thank goodness for doors that close!) You'll see a little vintage scattered here in there in my scrapbooking space, including my dad's old woodworking pencil container, below:
I got these shoebox-style containers from Exposures a couple of years ago. They work great for items I use some of the time, but not all the time. These shoeboxes took my scrapbooking space from crazy and cluttered to neat and orderly. They rest on hanging bookshelves above my scrapbooking table.
We have a Main kit subscriber giveaway this month. All you have to do is refer someone who signs up for a 3- or 6-month Main kit subscription during February, while supplies last, or if you aren't a subscriber yet and want to begin your Main kit subscription now you, we'll include a free 6 x 6 Studio Calico Printshop paper pad in with your February kit.

Guessing Game #1: 2013 Books by Nathalie
Hello there! I am posting this quick sneak very early this morning because we have a fun Blog Hop coming up later today. So make sure to come back!
This is my first layout created with the February main kit. Every January, I make a layout about the books I have read the previous year (you can see the previous pages here on my blog):
So, what did you spot in this kit?? Be sure to leave your comment and let us know for a chance to win a $5 gift card to the Citrus Twist shop!

and a close up of some of the embellishments from the kit:
I LOVE to look back at those pages. They bring back memories of the stories I enjoyed (or not so much). Have you ever recorded your readings on a page? Please share a link in the comments if you have, I'd love to see!

Welcome Guest Designer Shawna
Hello, there! I'm Shawna and I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years, give or take. I took a break after the birth of my daughter, but dove back in head first about a year ago. I love how this hobby has morphed from simple memory books to such a diverse and expressive art form incorporating so much more than just paper and photos.
I live in Central NY with my husband of 10 years, our 4 year old (excuse, me…4 ½ year old. She would correct me if she could read this…), our 7 year old yellow lab, Beau, and our sketchy little kitty, Lenny. I work full time in the legal field and when I'm not working or creating scrappy goodness, I love to photograph, read, and do anything that involves getting outside into the fresh air. I currently design f
or CSI Color Stories Inspiration, Sketchabilities, and Challenge YOUrself.
1. How long have you been scrapbooking and why did you start?
I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years, though I took about a 3 1/2 year hiatus when my daughter was born. I can't remember if it was a gift or if I bought it, but somehow I ended up with one of those pre-packaged scrapbook kits from Michael's way back in 2006 and I was hooked from the get-go.
2. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Hmm...trendy and a little bit eclectic? I love to try new techniques and some of my favorite blog posts are those that share technique tutorials. My layouts are all over the board...I try and create my layouts around whatever feel the photos give - sometimes it's a vintage feel, and sometimes it's an abstract artsy feel. The one thing that almost all of my layouts have in common is some type of mixed media background work - gelatos, modeling paste, gesso, etc., paper layers, and LOTS of bright, bright colors. Bright colors against a white background make me happy.
3. What scrapbookers have influenced you most?
I'm a big Sanna Lippert fan. Her video tutorials are fantastic and I have learned a ton of tricks and techniques from watching them.
4. What is your favorite thing about kit clubs?
I love that kits take the guess work out of coordinating products for a layout! Left on my own, it can take me hours to pick what materials I want to use on a page. I have this long drawn out process of pulling out everything I have in my stash that MIGHT work on my page, and then slowly whittling it down to what I will actually use. It works, but it's super time consuming. Nothing beats having that step taken care of for me!
5. If you departed for a week-long trip scrapbooking retreat, what are your 5 favorite scrapbooking items you would be sure to pack (besides your camera and photos!)?
White cardstock, gelatos, black ink, 3-D pop dots and some sort of twine...that's assuming they are providing the patterned paper. If I have to bring my own patterned paper I guess I could live without the black ink.
6. How would you describe the Citrus Twist February kit and what do you enjoy most about it?
The vibe of February's kit is really fun and playful. I love that the colors are neither masculine nor feminine, making them super easy to use on any subject you are scrapping.
Here is a beautiful layout Shawna created using the February Main Kit.
