PL Challenge with Adele

Hi scrappy peeps!

Today I have a fun DOUBLE PL challenge for you to try!

My first challenge is to use the Main Kit for your PL page, including trimming the 12x12 papers down for your journaling cards. Secondly, I also challenge you to use some product packaging in your layout.

I really enjoyed choosing the different papers for this layout, as well as incorporating the three different types of packaging into layering and embellishment details.

I love using the CT packaging card from the Main Kit as one of my journaling cards each month. All you need is a handy label or sticker to cover the text and BAM journaling card complete!

I have also created a process video talking a little more about my creative decisions on this page - hope you enjoy!

PL Challenge with Adele

Hi peeps!

I had so much fun jumping into the fab Heartbreaker PL Kit for September! This may well be one of my fav PL pages I have made in the last few months, I think it was because of the mix of fonts in the journaling cards and stamp sets.

This month, I challenge you to use small square photos in your PL spread. I often find square shaped photos difficult to use. However, at a smaller size I find them easier to add to my PL weeks because I can add journaling around my photo.

I loved combining different fonts this month, with a combo of the puffy yellow letters from a previous month's PL kit, my handwriting and the beautiful Magic Happens stamp set.

I have also created a process video for this month's PL challenge, I hope you enjoy watching!

Pocket Life Challenge with Adele

Hello scrappy peeps!

Today I have a little PL challenge for you all! When I was flipping through my 2017 album to see what pages I had left to finish, I found this 9x12 pocket page opposite a completed layout which was monochromatic blue tones...which inspired me to also try and use a monochromatic (one colour) scheme on my PL page. I have done this technique several times on layouts, but never on a PL spread before.

First I sorted through the embellies within this month's PL Kit and found all those with a blue or neutral tone.

I chose my PL cards and also matted a larger photo using some of the sweet 6x8" papers included in the kit.

I dived into my stash and used some blue alphas from a CT PL Kit earlier this year to continue my monochromatic theme.

Finally, I added a touch of journaling here and there, and I was all finished!! This was a great way to dive into my new kit with a fresh look - I often get a little overwhelmed and want to add ALLLLL the things on the first page hehe! With a strict colour scheme I was forced to make clear choices about what I wanted to use and where.

I have also create a process video of this page - hope you enjoy!

Project Life with Adele

Hello lovelies!

I have been busy catching up on my 2017 Project Life. I find working with the rad Citrus Twist PL Kits really handy when wanting to binge scrap and get caught up on a large chunk of scrapping, because everything I need is packaged and coordinated all together in one easy kit.

I used a combination of 4x6", 3x4" and smaller photos on this spread. I find using a variety of photo sizes makes my page more interesting and fun to embellish.

I used a lot of small labels on this page to add snippets of journaling about our road trip away to visit family. These photos are very important to my 2017 album as a lot of these contain photos of Archie meeting his Uncle, Great Aunt/cousins, and Great Grandparents for the very first time.

I've really enjoyed using this months PL kit to document this whole trip across several pages. By using the one kit and coordinating supplies, it makes the whole weekend away look more cohesive and flow in my album.

Grab your scrappy supplies and scrap along with me in my latest process video of this page!

Have a lovely week!

PL Challenge with Adele

Hi lovelies!

I have been steam rolling through some PL pages lately and have really been enjoying trying to use as much of each month's kit as possible before the next month's arrives! There's so many awesome goodies packed into each month's kits that I always have a plethora of embellishments, papers and cards to choose from.

I often feel a little overwhelmed when I get my latest monthly goodies because there's so many rad choices of what to use! It's nice to sometimes have a challenge to focus your design choices and not get too dazzled by all the pretties.

This month, I challenge you to incorporate the following three elements into your PL page (or if you want that extra challenge, into a layout!):

1. "Ghost" stamping (repeatedly stamping without re-inking);
2. A colour that is not your typical "go to" colour;
3. Digital journaling on a photo before printing.

I love challenging myself to include a small subtle difference in my pages to give my scrappy mojo an extra boost. I don't often reach for green, but decided to try to embrace it a little this week hehe!!

I love the final look of my page, the teeny little details and handwritten journal spread amongst the hints of green and stamping.

I've create a fun little process video of this page too, so grab your latest kit and get scrappy with me!

Pocket Life Kits with Adele and Jennie!

Hi there scrappy peeps!

Today I have a sweet little spread in my Traveler's Notebook using the November Pocket Life Kit - which is bursting with gorgeous little embellies and oh so many puffy stickers!

I love using the Pocket Life Kits in my TN because of the variety of embellies included each month. The added paper and PL cards are also a great way to add tip ins and extra fun features to your pages.

Even though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Aus, I was able to use a lot of the "grateful" elements to document my feelings towards our new little family addition.

I have filmed a full process video creating this page, I hope you enjoy it!

Hey Everyone! This is Jennie and I'm joining Adele to show you how we use the November Pocket Life Kit in a very different way! She made a Traveler's Notebook Spread and I made Pocket Pages!

This is my third double spread and I used up all my 3x4 journaling cards which was one of my goals!

This was a super busy week with lots of photos! But that doesn't stop me from over embellishing this whole thing!

I used the alpha stickers from the kit for the title card and the label is from the cut aparts. To make the filler cards with banners I used the Maggie Holmes sticky flags from the Embellishments Kit. I love when journaling cards have a grid pattern because my handwriting looks a lot better in that small space.

I love these puffy stickers from the Pocket Life Kit they are the perfect amount of puffy for PL pages. I used a bunch elements in this card: pattern paper, die cuts, cut aparts, puffy stickers and stamp. This is my favorite card in the spread.

I love how bendy are the phrases on the the stamps! In here you can barely see where the stamps are because they contour the things next to the stamps so well.

In this card I used my typewriter. All the little hearts on the layout where made with the 6x8 Exclusive Citrus Twist Pattern Papers and a metal die.
Make sure you watch my process video! Watch it until the end to see the kit leftovers!

I hope you enjoyed these projects! Isn't it awesome how one kit could produce many projects?!

Tuesday Tutorial with Inkie Quill ~ Floating Embellishment Clusters

What's up scrappy peeeeps?!

I have a easy but effective technique to show you today for Tutorial Tuesday - the mysterious "floating" embellishment cluster.

Make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post to watch the full process video using the June Pocket Life Kit :)

All you need for this tutorial are your 6x6" papers, a few basic punches/dies and some plastic packaging. Easy peasy!

I decided to choose some of my fav punches - a basic 2" (ish) heart, 1" circle, 1" scalloped circle and a teeny tiny heart.

1. Punch several shapes using your punches or dies.

2. Cut out a 3x4" piece of plastic packaging to use as a backing for your floating cluster.

3. Attach one of your clusters to one side of the plastic packaging.

4. Flip over the packaging and mirror the same shapes by creating a second cluster on the reverse side.

5. Decorate with some tiny word stickers or phrases.

6. Carefully slide the plastic piece into your pocket protector, and voila! Floating embellishment!
