Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a fun Project Life Challenge - who's in!?
I actually have 2 challenges that you can use in any project! The first is: embellishment collage!
The pocket below shows how I combined stamps, acetate, die cuts, and puffy stickers to make an eye-catching title card. I love making these - it's like a puzzle of pretty supplies.
Use this technique on your next project and you'll also find that you can use so many of your favorite pieces together!!
The second challenge is to use a consistent style for your photos cards. This may work best for a themed or special event that you're adding to your pockets, weekly PL may not work too well but I know I'm going to give it a try. The idea is to make them all feel similar and that one doesn't stand on its own.
I wanted to document all of the girls I got to see in person on this one day. I sized the photos down to smaller than 3x4. I trimmed off a bit more from the bottom to leave room on the back paper. Then I matted them like Polaroids on 3x4 cardstock.
The consistent style here is that I stamped the name and added a heart. That's it! You can do this with a date stamp, a sentiment, or even word strips. Besides the look of clean and consistent, it was FAST! Having a formula and not having to figure out something different to do on each card made this page super easy!
Thanks for being here, friends! I hope you're inspired to try a new thing in your pocket page album!
Today I'm here to share my take on our Sunday sketch! Sketches can be a great jumping off point and not only can they quicken the overall process of putting a page together, they can also get you thinking about adding in things that you may not have originally considered.
Here is our sketch:
I'll be using today's sketch for building a layout in my Traveler's Notebook.
I started my layout by backing the left page with some neutral pattern paper and then backing my square 3 inch photos with a different pattern. I also added some ephemera to the left, using the sketch as my guide. Having a guide definitely helped me not overthink where I was placing things, so I could use more of my energy deciding on what ephemera pieces I wanted to use!
I switched up the arrangement on the right side of my page (again, just making the sketch work for my project) by starting with my stamped title and then adding in my journaling and a few ephemera pieces.
If you'd like to see a more in depth look at my process feel free to check out the process video below!
Using a sketch definitely streamlined my process for this layout, making it so fun to put together. I hope you'll play along and try out today's sketch too!
Nathalie with you today with this month's first 3-to-Inspire. I hope you all have visited the store to see what Trina has put together for this month's Life Crafted - LOVE STORIES - kit, Add on kit and stamps. I am always awed at the beautiful kits, and this month it does not disappoint. So to give you a taste of this month's kits, i created two projects following this week's prompts:
For this page, i decided to play with tones of pink to document a recurring moment in our lives with teens. First i picked one of the papers from the kit to serve as the background, and use another one of the papers to mat and layer the picture.
This month's Love Stories kit is packed with embellishments, so i pulled a few hearts from the acetate shapes and the puffy sticker sheet to complement the die cut that forms my title.
To add the journal of the picture, i used my typewriter on the tag that comes included in the kit. While i typed the story, i set my Cameo to cut the Diamond Heart cut file from the same paper that mats the picture and twice from pink cardstock. These were glued together to create the dimension on the die cut.
To complete the repetitive prompt of the challenge, i pulled a few more hearts from the Love Stories kit to accent a few of the clusters in around the layout.
I wanted to create a Valentine's Day page that was masculine and not the usual pink or red, so i chose the cool tones of the papers of the Add-On kit to create this page. Love all the papers and embellishments in the kit!
These triangles were the inspiration for my repetitive shape, those small enamel triangles (Dear Lizzy's New Day collection ) came in handy to contimue my repetition of shapes.
Since i wanted the background and picture to be highlighted, I chose to convert the picture of my husband and smiling baby dog to black and white.
I used papers from the Add-on kit as well as ephemera pieces, cut apart elements (free printable page available for subscribers) and a few pieces from the Love Stories kit to frame the picture. Here is a video that will show you how this page came together:
I love how these two projects turned out by following this week 3-to-Inspire prompts and this month's LOVE STORIES, Add-on Kits and Stamps... Now it is your turn to create a project inspired by these prompts. Remember to share your creations with us on our Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or on social media by tagging @citrustwistkits or #citrustwistkits. We love to see your works.

Hello CTK friends! It is the beginning of February which means a new kit! I have to say this just may be my favorite kit! There are so many fantastic goodies this month! I think my favorites are all the sentiments on the 3x4 and 4x6 cards and the puffy hearts. Take a look at the unboxing video below. I can't wait to hear what your favorite pieces are this month.
I was so inspired by all the goodies in this month's kit I got started creating right away! I created two pages for my Life Crafted album. Here is a peek at the first page.
I loved the big tag in the February kit and all the sentiments about "being enough". I chose to play off the tag shape and create a two page spread all about me. I added a bit of ink and distressing to both the tags to connect the colors across the spread.
Next, I printed out a large picture for the left side of the spread. I created lots of layers with paper, doily, die cuts and chipboard. I love the textures and layers created and the interest it creates.
On the right side of the spread, after I added a bit of ink and distressing, I ran the tag through my typewriter to add journaling. To finish the tag I added a paper border and die cut on the bottom along with ribbon and a tag from the ephemera pack.
For my second page I created a two page summer spread. I was so inspired by all the bright and beautiful colors that I wanted to play with some fun pool photos.
I printed out a bunch of square photos in different sizes and colors and placed them around the spread. I backed the large photos with some 6x8 patterned paper from the kit. More bright colors!
The fun acetate circles were the perfect touch to the fun photos. I love the added pop of color and interest. As I said earlier, I LOVE the puffy heart stickers so I just had to add them to the spread.
I am so excited to keep creating with the February kit. What are you excited to play with? What memories and moments will you capture this month?
