Product Highlight - Foam & Chipboard Thickers

Hi CTK friends! It's Anna on the blog today to bring you this month's Product Highlight. This time we want to inspire you to incorporate your foam or/and chipboard Thickers on your creations, YAY!
Love me some Thickers! :) There's lots of them if you get both the August Perfectly Posh Scrapbook and Add On kit's and the are just awesome.

I've made one layout and one TN spread and it works great to use Thickers for both of them. If you don't want your TN to bulky you can easily split them up to make them thinner, at least the chipboard Thickers, and mount them with regular glue instead. For me, I don't care to much if my TN gets a bit bulky, lol! Anyway I usualy doesn't use Thickers on each and every page.

Enough babbling, here's what I came up with.

First out is my layout made with the August Perfectly Posh Scrapbook kit, the Pocket Life kit, the Add On kit, the Embellishment kit and the free digital cut apart sheet.

I immediatly fell in love with this lovely paper by Maggie Holmes Willow Lane with this BIG sentence. I did really step out of my comfort zone using mostly white backgrounds thanks to my crush on this paper, LOL!
And I really like how easy you get some texture and dimension on your pages by using different Thickers.

Next out is this outdoor inspired TN spread made with the August Perfectly Posh Scrapbook kit, the Add On kit and the Outdoor Adventures stamp.

I was so inpired by the backside of the Outdoor Adventure stamp set so I decided to use them with some happy colored ink pads instead of my regular black one. I love to try "new" things and I really like how it turned out. And I also love the look of using these "YAY" foam Thickers upon my photo, pretty cool way of using Thickers, have to try that more :)

And that's all what I have for now! There's so much to love about the August kits and I do really like these foam and chipboard Thickers and I'm sure you'll love the too. Be sure to share your creations with us in the CTK Fan Page on Facebook. And if you are up on Instagram? So are we! Tag @citrustwistkits and use the hashtag #citrustwistkits so we can see more of your gorgeous creations!

I can't wait to see your creations!

Project Life with Adele

Hello lovelies!

I have been busy catching up on my 2017 Project Life. I find working with the rad Citrus Twist PL Kits really handy when wanting to binge scrap and get caught up on a large chunk of scrapping, because everything I need is packaged and coordinated all together in one easy kit.

I used a combination of 4x6", 3x4" and smaller photos on this spread. I find using a variety of photo sizes makes my page more interesting and fun to embellish.

I used a lot of small labels on this page to add snippets of journaling about our road trip away to visit family. These photos are very important to my 2017 album as a lot of these contain photos of Archie meeting his Uncle, Great Aunt/cousins, and Great Grandparents for the very first time.

I've really enjoyed using this months PL kit to document this whole trip across several pages. By using the one kit and coordinating supplies, it makes the whole weekend away look more cohesive and flow in my album.

Grab your scrappy supplies and scrap along with me in my latest process video of this page!

Have a lovely week!
Adele :)

Pocket Life with Alena

Hey Everyone! This is Alena and today I'm sharing the new spreads of my 2018 album!  In May my family had a vacation at sea and I decided to dedicate this week two spreads. I have used the July "Skyland" Pocket Life and July "Skyland"Scrapbook kits + July 2018 Travelers Notebook "Not My Best Moment" Stamp.
I like to use layouts 6"x8" in the Project Life, so I did it again.

I  love those  die-cuts that are included in this months Project Life kit, I used a few in this spread. I also added bright accents using round Epoxy Stickers,  Exclusive  Puffy Stickers and stamps.

For the next spread I mostly used  July "Skyland"Scrapbook kit.  I like all the pastel colors and graphic elements — perfect for every day documenting!

Here I used lemon paper — it is so neutral and allows to use any other colors on it. Just a few die-cuts , Epoxy Stickers - and you're done!

I hope I inspired you today! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

3 to Inspire with Alena

Hello friends! I am so excited and thrilled to be joining the CTK DT!! I hope you will enjoy seeing my projects every month! Today I am bringing to you my  3 To Inspire challenge!
This week's 3 to Inspire prompts are:

  1. Include hand-cut items on your layout/spread.
  2. Use the Puffy Alphabet.
  3. Stitch (machine, hand).

I like all the kits this month - perfect for summer photos. This spread is  pretty simple, but it's all about bright accents.
The main elements are hand-cut flowers from patterned paper, which were sewn to the card. I added words of Puffy Alphabet to make my spread look harmonious. And also added a few phrases, using a stamp.

Use the three (3) prompts to create your own project and share it with us on our Facebook Fanpage!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

Travelers Notebook Challenge

I am so excited to share this with you!  My family is taking a road trip this summer and so I am creating a travelers notebook specifically for this trip.  I decided to stamp the front page and use a combination of the July stamps including the This is Life Daily Routine Stamp,  the stamp from the Skyland Scrapbook kit and the stamp from the Skyland Pocket Life kit.

I started with the Outline Alphabet stamp - it was PERFECT here [and anywhere, really] and made a great title for the album. Then, I began to build around the title with other stamps, mostly using black ink, but adding a few pops of color.

There are so many fun combinations and with the Conversation Starters stamp set it was easy to fill in any blank spots with phrases that work with the theme.

As you can see in the photo, I did add a strip of a 4x6 journaling at the bottom, to add a bit of interest and a pop of color, as well. I also loved how the pink went with the yellow on the left & left the focus on the mix of stamps.

With this fun into page to my road trip travelers notebook, I challenge you! Want to play along?  Stamp your own overall pattern on your project!  Combine stamp sets & ink colors to create your own personalized project! Share with us on Instagram by tagging @citrustwistkits or using the hashtag #citrustwistkits ! I look forward to seeing what you create!

Pocket Life with Jennie Garcia

Happy Coffee! I mean Monday! This is Jennie with today's pocket pages using the June Pocket Life Kit. In this spread, I mixed it up by adding the June Embellishment Kit

Since on this side I have 3x3 pockets I had to trim down a few of the cards and use the papers from the June Pocket Life Kit

These weeks were a little slow so I only use one page for each week. I'm not too hard with my PL process so I allow myself to do this often. It's good to have guidelines, but when rules are too strict it can stifle your creative process.

The tags that I used for the title are from the Pinkfresh Studio Sticker Sheet from the Embellishment Kit. On the right, I used a die cut from the Pocket Life Kit and the heart is also from  Embellishment Kit.

Those Case of the Blahs Stickers are perfect for situations like these. I cut the original photo in a circle and used a paper for the background. It somehow turned it into a happy photo.

In this card, I wanted to sticker sneeze all my "Z"s. I have so many! I still have mixed feelings about it. I love it but at the same time is incredibly quirky!

I can't believe I managed to keep this card so simple! The tag is from the die cuts pack and the label from the Pnkfresh Studio Stickers. The alphas are from an old Citrus Twist Kit. I wanted to keep everything at the center so I stamped on the sides.

This is one of my "simple' layouts. Ignoring the fact that I stuck more than 20 alpha stickers in a card.
I hope you enjoyed these pages! I am loving this kit! Take Care!

Friday PL Challenge with Trina

Hello everyone, It's Trina here today with a little PL challenge that will work for our PL'ers, traveler notebookers and scrapbookers alike.

Here is your challenge with some prompts:

  1. Create a page or spread about home or a homecoming. (Have fun with this!)
  2. Make at least one embellishment cluster.
  3. Use at least one black & white photo.
This is what I came up with.

I decided to tell the story of two homecomings: one of our recent vacation to where I grew up (California) and, two, returning to our new home (Washington) afterwards and having a homecoming to our dog, Maggie.

I made these pocket pages and mini scrapbooking layout with elements from the June Cypress pocket life kit. The die-cut cardstock and other embellishments are a perfect go-to course for making embellishment clusters!

Here are some close-ups of two of my embellishment clusters. For me, these little clusters are joyful and fun. For the second cluster I used a page from one of my vintage book finds - an old 1947 guide named California: An Intimate Guide (score!). Since Cali is my home state the chapters and stories of California are perfect for adding a little vintage or junking up my pages. I cut one of the "High Sierra" pages down to journaling card size, adhered it to cardstock, then built my embellishment grouping on top of the page.

I built the mini 6" x 8" scrapbook page using a basic grid. Grids make layouts very easy. I also used my Brothers sewing machine to stitch down the grid squares and rectangles and made one of the squares my journaling spot.

What will your homecoming story be? We can't wait to see!

Happy weekend everyone.

Trina
