SUNDAY SKETCH with Nathalie

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to share this week's sketch challenge with you all.  We love sketches around here, it is probably one of the easiest ways to build a page in a short amount of time.   Let's take a look at this week's sketch...

And here is what I have created using the Spring Dreams Digital collection and the new Gingham Garden 6x8 paper pad in my 6x8 Blueberry Life Crafted Album...

And just in case you ask, I built a wintery layout with the help of the Spring Dreams collection, well welcome to Spring here in Canada!!1

For my spread, I chose to flip the sketch 90 degrees clockwise.   The rotation of the sketch helps me to set my images onto the left side of the spread, and combine them with the larger photo on the right of the page.  I pretty much followed the sketch, and build the layers behind the photos using some of the Spring Dreams Patterned Paper, Spring Dreams  Journaling Cards, and Gingham  Garden 6x8 Paper pad.

I am using the placement of the tags to add pieces of Spring Dreams Digital ephemera and Spring Dreams Cut Apart Elements to my page.   I am using snowflake die cuts to tie the page all together.  The main difference comes to the placement of the title.

In my page, I am using the Cherish Stamp set to add a few sentiments at the bottom of the picture as a subtitle for the page.  I moved the title to the right side of the spread and placed a top of the picture.  Love how the white foam alphas pop from the color of the mittens to match the snow!

I hope this week's sketch provides some inspiration for a new project of your own. Remember to share with us your finished projects

XO

3-To-Inspire With Diane

Hi there, it's Diane here with this week's 3-To-Inspire Challenge!

For this layout I used the Spring Dreams Digital Collection, papers and ephemera from the Gingham Garden Collection (Crate Paper) and the Rose Gold Puffy Alphabet Stickers from the shop.

Here are my three prompts:

1. Go Vertical. Use strong vertical lines with patterned paper and photos.

2. Use a photo frame in at least one spot to highlight a photo.

3. Create a large title using puffy alphabet Stickers.

For the first prompt I printed out the digital patterned paper twice and cut those in half to create the vertical elements. Next, I selected two photos to be printed vertically in the same size as the paper.

For the second prompt I then selected two frames from the Gingham Garden Ephemera Kit and printed photos to go behind them.

I love using frames to spotlight my favorite photos!

For the last prompt I used those gorgeous Rose Gold Alphas to create my title. I added some strips of journaling, a few more embellishments and this layout was done!

I hope you will play along this week! If you do, make sure to tag Citrus Twist Kits so that we can see your beautiful projects!

Happy Scrapping!

Diane

3-TO-INSPIRE WITH KATARINA

Hey friends, Katarina here with you again. Today I am coming with my 3-to-inspire project using the beautiful SPRING DREAMS digitals with some other shop exclusives.

My prompts for this week are:

1. Use a big B&W photo

2. Layering

3. Embellish tone on tone

And here’s my project.

I am in love with all the digital products this month. The colors are so fresh and beautiful. I chose three of them and decided to create three sections in the left side of my project. I cut three rectangles from the digital papers and layered multiple digital ephemera, elements and other products – all tone on tone.

For my right side I used a whole-page black and white photo of me and my son. To make both pages more cohesive, I used the left over frames from the patterned papers. I layered them in two corners of my photo.

To bring a little bit of the B&W vibe to the left page, I used a combination of black and white Foam Alphabet for my title.

I hope you feel inspired by my prompts and my project and all the beautiful products in the SPRING DREAMS release. Thank you for stopping by and wish you a great weekend full of crafting!

SUNDAY SKETCH WITH ASHLEY

It's March, and that means the first day of Spring is happing on March 20th! I know it feels like Spring in some places and still feels like Winter in others, but the Spring Dreams release can definitely help you work on your Spring projects! And, what's better to go with this release than a fun sketch to help jump start your creativity!

This Sketch is set up as a horizontal design for a 12x12 layout, but I decided to change things up to fit a Traveler's Notebook layout in my Life Crafted album.

I started out by rotating the sketch to create a vertical design. I really loved the cute word strip patterned paper that is a part of the Spring Dreams digitals, so I just used it as the full side of the left hand side of my layout. And, I had two photos I wanted to use for this layout, so I used the photo space and the journaling card space from the sketch for my photo area.

I used a couple of the other digital patterned papers to create the background layers from the Sketch. Once, I had my layered papers and photos in place, I brought in some of the embellishments from the ephemera pack.

For the title of my layout, I decided to keep it around the bottom of the photo. I used a mix of the Ginger Lower stamp set with one of the ephemera pieces to create my title. I finished off the layout with a little bit of machine stitching to add some extra texture.

I hope you've been inspired to look at this week's sketch a little bit differently. Whether you are changing it up or using it as is, just make sure you have fun with it!!

3-TO-INSPIRE with Marsha

Hey, CTK friends! It's Marsha here today, and I'm excited to share a 3-to-Inspire project. I used the new Spring Dreams digitals, Ginger Lower Alphabet stamp, and products from the Crate Paper Gingham Gardens collection- all available in the CTK shop.

Here are this week's 3-to-Inspire prompts:

1. Include at least two photos
2. Stamp the title
3. Add dimension

For my project, I created a Spring layout in my Flamingo Life Crafted album. I traced a large half circle onto a patterned paper from the Gingham Gardens 6x8 Paper Pad, trimmed it out, and adhered it along the edge of the page. Next, I added my photo and embellished the layout with the Spring Dreams digitals, along with ephemera and stickers from the Gingham Gardens collection. I used foam tape to adhere some of the elements for extra dimension. To complete the page, I stamped my title with the Ginger Lower Alpha stamp and sage ink, following the curve of the patterned paper.

For the other side of the spread, I chose more ephemera elements from the Spring Dreams digitals and the Gingham Gardens collection and arranged them in a half circle. The layout seemed flat, so I decided to use the Bows cut file and a digital patterned paper to create a bow for the page. I love the interest and dimension it added to the layout.

I also included a detail photo taken the same day on my walk. To complete the spread, I added some stamping with the Cherish stamp and stickers from the Gingham Gardens Puffy Stickers.

I hope you are inspired to use these prompts as a starting point for your next project! Happy creating!

Sunday Sketch with Patricia

Hello CTK Friends!  This month is full of Spring inspiration along with the Sunday sketch, which if you  love grids and circles, you will love this sketch as much I do.

When gained inspiration from this sketch the new Spring Dreams, Ginger Lower Alpha, and the Simple Stories Wildflower collection all available in the shop.

I first picked out a title to use the alpha stamps to go with my photo, then I planned out how to use the digital papers, and ephemera from the release.  For the circle stamp, I used the new Cherish stamp set and for the larger L alpha, I used the Ginger upper case stamp set.

I really had fun playing with the stamps, stickers and ephemera from this release.  The large blue butterfly was trimmed from the digital Spring Dreams collection.

Inspired by the sketch and the layering, I layered under my photo at the bottom and used a digital Spring Dreams ephemera to add my typed journaling to finish.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope this sketch the new release are as inspiring as they are for me...happy creating!!

3-to-Inspire with Ettiene

Hello.  Welcome to this weekends 3-to-Inspire.  I don't know about you but I'm always really excited about the change in seasons. It just feels like a fresh start.  For todays inspiration these are my three items I selected:
1. Digital Papers
2. Stamp Set
3. Puffy Stickers

For this page I used the Spring Dreams digital papers, Ginger lower case alphabet and Gingham Gardens puffy stickers all available now in the shop.  Here you can see my supplies. This time since I printed the digital papers I added my journaling ahead of time in photoshop.

Now let's take a look at my overall page.  I made the left side to fit in a 6"x8" album outside the page protector and the right side will slip into a 3"x8" page protector.  I love the variation this creates in my overall album.

I. used the Ginger lowercase alpha to stamp spring and then colored in with a pink marker to add a bit of color.  I used the beautiful rose gold alphas to add the hello.  The butterflies are cut out of the ephemera and popped up with glue dots.  I then used the puffy stickers as a sprinkle across the page.

One the right side my journaling outlines 3 things I am looking forward to this spring.  I then accented that journaling card simply with a butterfly that matches the color of the number on the card.

I hope this spread inspires you to try something new.  Have a great weekend.
